Low Sugar Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: May 29, 2013
This recipe wasn't bad, but the primary reason it tasted good it at all was because it's hard to go wrong with strawberries and rhubarb. I did increase the honey to 3 Tbsp per other reviews and it was still very tart (I still liked it, because I don't mind tart, but it was even more tart than I am used to!). I included a tablespoon of cornstarch but it was still very runny (we called it Rhubarb Soup) and the topping was very scant - doubling it would have been a good call, but I was low on oats. As it was, it wasn't very crunchy, either, more soggy. Probably won't be making this one again as I have many other strawberry-rhubarb recipes I much prefer.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2012
I almost never write reviews, but I had to go out of my way to declare how amazing these muffins are! I have tried many muffin recipes, but this is, by far, the most moist and low-maintenance. I made these exactly as written and absolutely LOVED them!

Pumpernickel Rye Bread

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
I love this bread with a cheese fondue! We served it to friends, one of whom insisted she didn't like pumpernickel or rye bread, and, yet, she thought this was fantastic! Thanks!

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
Per other reviews, I left out the brown sugar and cut the hot dogs into smaller pieces, mixed in with the batter, but these were a definite winner with the whole family! I'm a big corn dog fan, so being able to re-create the flavor with little cost and no mess was wonderful!

Baja Grilled Chicken Wrap

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
My WHOLE family loved these - considering my two picky ones ages three and one, that is quite the feat. We ditched the coleslaw (because I didn't have it) and used a little lettuce instead. So yummy! My husband was grateful we had leftovers for lunch the next day!

Chocopeanutbanana Smoothie

I am absolutely addicted to this smoothie. I substitute Vanilla Greek Yogurt for part of the milk just to give it a bit of a protein boost - it is AMAZING!

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
AMAZING! This was the exact thing I was craving and way easier than I ever imagined it could be. My husband has declared this to be our new staple (as we typically have all ingredients on-hand). Yum, yum, yum! (We didn't serve with raspberries, but we are thinking of trying ice cream next time.)

Hawaiian Spareribs

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
I made these for a luau-themed Christmas party and loved them! I had never done ribs at all before and yet found this recipe to be super-easy. I did follow the instructions for cooking ribs in general left in one comment (cooking the meat, covered, by itself for an hour and a half before adding the sauce). Even my husband who claims to dislike all things barbecue or "sweet meat" really liked these - he's asking me to make them again already!

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
I left out the white wine, because we don't keep that on hand. Also, instead of the tomato products, I used a garden vegetable pasta sauce (because that's what I had). In the end, though, it was great!
