I am a Junior High Teacher in Central Alberta. Cooking for me is a de-stresser, so I get double the benefits from cooking - relaxation and good food!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are hearty (and easy!) baked and slow cooker meals such as chicken parmigiana, roast beef and roast chicken as well as family traditions such as popovers and honey for breakfast or homemade crepes with homemade warm fruit compote and popcorn made in a big pot on the stove.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions are;
-A nice glass of wine while cooking
-Popovers with honey on Sunday mornings
-Big bowls of fresh, hot popcorn made on the stove
My cooking triumphs
I don't know if I have any specific cooking triumphs. I suppose first learning to cook for a family of five at age ten could be considered a triumph. Every time I try a new dish of my own, or work with a recipe to create something different and unique, and it turns out to taste great is a triumph to me!
My cooking tragedies
Many, many failed attempts at popcorn on the stove, resulting in burned popcorn, and badly stained pans.
