Crispy Chocolate Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
I made these without the frosting, as I didn't have enough chocolate chips, but they were still really yummy! Otherwise the only thing I did differently is that I chopped the peanuts up. To make it easier to spread in the pan, I wet my hands and used them to smooth it out. Worked like a charm. I will be making these again!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This is the best pizza dough! I have made many other, longer and harder recipes, and this pizza dough tastes as good, or better than all those. Since I tried this recipe (I found it about a year ago or so) I only use this one. So simple and so yummy! My grandma requested the recipe, so I am printing it out for her now. :)

Barbecued Chicken Pizza

YUM! I made my own pizza crust because I am not a fan of mixes. I didn't expect to like this nearly as much as I did. Just writing this review is making my mouth water! I will make this again and again!

Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
Very good! I am not a huge cabbage fan, but I got a huge head of cabbage from our farm share, and found this recipe. My husband and I really liked it, and even had seconds! I used some smoked sausage instead of the ham, because that is what I had on hand. The flavor is very simple, but not bland. Hard to explain. Don't serve this with something spicy though, it would detract from this dish. I will make this again!

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Super easy and very good. I did use fresh garlic and added some onion powder, and a little water to make it a bit thinner, but loved how easy and quick it was to make, and I have lots of leftovers!

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
Yummy! About the best banana bread I have eaten, and with no extra fat! I did use one whole egg instead of the two egg whites, but otherwise followed the recipe. Came out great, and will be putting this in my recipe book as my main banana bread recipe!

Cracked Wheat Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I am new to bread making, so maybe I am doing something wrong, but this bread just doesn't turn out right. I have made it twice, and I must have had to potent of a starter, because in the first rise, after the hour and a half it had tripled.... same for the second rise. Then when I put it in the pans, it hardly rose at all, and the bit that it did rise, it fell flat after putting th egg wash on and while baking. Today I made it again, this time with a more aged starter. It rose about right for the first two rises, and rose good for the pan rise, (although it took two hours instead of the one called for) but again fell after I put the egg wash on (I was very gentle) and baking. It didn't fall as much this time though. The bread tastes too "sour" and doesn't have good "bread" texture. (I am sure that is from falling.) I might try making this again, but with half the starter called for, and then just let it rise once before putting it in the pans. I am afraid to waste my time again though. *sigh* (BTW: Last week I made a basic sourdough bread recipe with the same sourdoug starter, and it worked out perfect, so I don't think it is my starter.) **The bread did rise (with no extra yeast) and so many other people like it, that I give it four stars. Maybe I am doing something wrong, and maybe other people like bread that "sour".

Special Ham and Cheese Sandwiches

This was good... not great, but good. If you are bored with the same old ham sandwiches. It might be better on toast or a tortilla though.

Orzo and Rice

Love this! I have made it a few times. Once as it says, once with parmesan, and once as "Mexican rice". It was great every time! Love the texture and flavor! I will be making this and it's variables often!

Monster Cookies V

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
These are great! I don't think most people would guess that they don't have flour. Quite addicting! I didn't put in M&Ms because I didn'thave any, but I am sure that would have made them even better! I made 1/2 the recipe, but that was still a lot of cookies! I put the extras in the freezer, but they only lasted in there a week before they started losing quality. (They were still all eaten though.) YUM!

Brown Sugar Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
These are the best "healthy" pancakes I have made or even had! Yum! I didn't have buttermilk, so I put a squirt of lemon juice in the milk and let it sit for a few minutes before adding it to the mix. I also used 3/4 cup whole wheat flour and 1/4 cup white. I will try it with all whole wheat next time.

Salsa Chicken

This was ok. The chicken was overdone after 25 minutes, and I think it needed more salsa or something. I probably won't make it again, or if I do, I will change things a lot.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
This was so easy! This is the first bread I have ever made that actually worked. I have only tried making bread a couple times, and the last time was just a few days ago. I followed a recipe off the flour bag (whole wheat flour.) Not pretty! ~ So I came here to find something good... and I found it. The only things I did different is that I made 2/3 of the recipe for 2 loaves. I also added two T. of wheat gluten because I used all purpose flour instead of bread flour. It raised perfectly, is not dense, and tastes good! Tip ~ When raising the bread, I turned the oven on for maybe 3 minutes, turned it off, then put a dish of hot water in the oven. Then I put the dough in the oven. (It took about 45 minutes for each rise.) I left the water in the oven while baking too. Not sure if it made a difference or not.

Aunt Edith's Baked Pancake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
I have made this twice, and love it! It is a great thing to make when you don't feel like flipping pancakes. I haven't had fresh lemon with it yet, (I used just a sprinkle of RealLemon) but I am sure that would make it even better!

Mexican Cream Cheese Rollups

Very good! I used half the the mayo called for, and added the salsa right to the mix. I have made them without mayo too, and they turn out great. I like them better without black olives though.
