About this Cook
I've been a housewife/pastor's wife for almost 20 years. I've changed my cooking style over the years from traditional meat and potatoes to become more health conscience. Now that my kids are "grown",I eat much simpler- grilled chicken, salads, steamed vegetables. It has to be quick and easy. I periodically splurged on baking (mostly for others)so it has to be delicious and worth blowing calories on! I still collect recipes and enjoy trying a new dish that looks good.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite dish is a Moroccan stew. Two of my long time favorite dishes are Red Beans and rice with sausage, and black beans and rice with homemade salsa!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Beans and rice. I won my boyfriend (now husband) over with it. He said he married me because he thought I was a great cook. "He didn't know that was the only dish I could make!" That wasn't true...but almost.
My cooking triumphs
Baking...cakes, breads, cookies!
My cooking tragedies
I need a recipe to cook...I can't do it from taste. My husband can go into the kitchen and make something great off the top of his head. I tease him by saying, "you could never make it again because you don't know what you did." Truth...he could never make the same dish twice.

Gingerbread I
YUM,YUM,YUM! Perfect recipe. Quick, easy, delicious. I doubled the spices and used regular molasses. Sifted powdered sugar over the top while still warm. It's a HIT!
