Carrot Cake XI

this was my first carrot cake ever, it came out ok. i used baby carrots (that was a lot of grating, thank God for kids huh) and added raisons, i think i made the cake to think because it took a long time to cook and then the bottom was a little over done but for my first try it was pritty good will try this recipe again.

Lemon Square Bars

This was a pritty good recipe, It needed a little tweaking though. I added about a half a teaspoon of lemon zest, and sqeezed half a lemon into the batter.

Baker's Clay

I plan on taking some christmas ornaments to my family when I go to visit over the thanksgiving holiday, so I had to make sure this recipe works ahead of time, I love it, my kids really enjoy making them. I crushed whole cloves and cinnimon sticks together and mixed them in the dough.... they smell wonderful, these will definitly be a hit with the relatives

Apple Fritters I

Did not like this recipe, very bland, a waste of perfectly good apples, you may be able to play around with the recipe some, find some combination that works, but who has the time. I just fried up the apple plain and sprinkled it with some sugar and spice and ate it like that.

Whoopie Pies

made these the other day, family loved them. I divided the filling in half and mixed about a half a can of cocholate frosting into it, it made for a very light not to sweet cocholate filling, I think the next time I make them I will do the whole batch with the cocholate filling

Old Virginia Wassail Cider

My mom made wassail every christmas for me growing up and this is almost the exact recipe she used, only instead of honey she used sugar. Now that she is gone I make it for my kids every year, it has such a wonderfull tangy sweet flavor and so easy to make!

Cream of Chicken Breasts

Made this recipe, only I used 2 cans of cream of chicken w/2 cans milk.I put in some mixed veggies, and I poured stove top stuffing over the top and poured some more soup over the stuffing, its a good idea to use low fat milk, milk does make a thicker soup. if you dont like stuffing than a can of biscuts over the top and you have a pot pie.

Bread Pudding II

My husband is the bread pudding lover, and very picky about how he likes it. This recipe he liked, he did say it was just a little bland so next time I will add a bit more sugar, and half again the liquid ingredence. This is a great basic recipe that can be tweaked to fit your personal taste.

Banana Banana Bread

the basic recipes was great, only to make it more of a treat I sprinkled the top with a mixture of brown sugar and my pumpkin pie spices, after it was done while still hot I poured powder sugar frosting over the top and let it soak into the bread, serve with vinilla icecream, yum

Blue Ribbon Sugar Cookies

I made these cookies as a drop cookie. It was light and crunchy yet soft in the middle. However I did not care for the flavor, but I think I will make them for christmas when my kids and I make our sugar cookies with frosting. I think they will be great then.
