Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
Tasted great. I steamed baby carrots and didn't leave water in the pot. I will definitely make again.

Tasted okay. Definitely came out crispy. I will try making again with more spices in the breading.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
Tasted awesome and got a lot of compliments from people at two different parties. I heated the refried beans and added the seasoning so it was easier to spread, didn't use lettuce or green peppers, didn't use all the sour cream mixture, added a layer of guacamole, and I split the recipe between two shallow serving trays. Everyone liked the thin layers because you got a taste of everything in one scoop. It is exactly one year later from my original review and this recipe is still being requested at every bbq/party/gathering of any sort that I go to. There are never any leftovers and people I've never met will find me to tell me how much they've enjoyed it. Thank you for this recipe!

This was delicious! My boyfriend made it for my birthday dinner and served it over rice. We will definitely make it again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Delicious and easy! I followed other reviews and substituted the water with beef broth. Ended up eating the extra gravy the next morning with biscuts.

Maria's Broccoli Rabe

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
I just made this for pork & broccoli rabe sandwiches and it came out great. For years I have been steaming the broccoli rabe and then would saute it with the garlic, and it would still be pretty bitter. Boiling is definitely the way to go!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
Quick & easy! Followed as written and tasted good. Next time will try adding some seasonings. This was my first time making any kind of dough from scratch and it's a good recipe to start with.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
It tasted okay. I think I used too much biscut dough because it filled up the whole slow cooker and took longer than thirty minutes to cook. It came out as chicken and thick soggy biscut gravy. My boyfriend did not want me to try it again.

Cajun Style Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
My boyfriend and I just made this for the first time. We used tabasco and found it a little spicy and next time will try a milder pepper sauce. This is replacing our plain old boring meatloaf. We absolutely love this recipe!

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
The chicken was tender but I was expecting a lot more flavor from the thickness of the marinade. My boyfriend really liked it but I thought it was just okay.

Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Awesome! We had to use craisins because fresh cranberries didn't make it to our stores yet. They are delicious and we can't stop eating them. Will definitely make again when the cranberries come in.

Slow Cooker Cider Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
This recipe was okay. We pretty much followed the directions but we don't have a food processor. I don't know if that really made much of a difference. We felt there was a lot of liquid and would have been better if it was thicker. I probably should have browned the pork longer because the flower coating was just kind of mushy when we pulled it out. The pork was really tender, moist, and had a good flavor. We enjoyed it. I hope others try this recipe and add their comments of how they tweaked it. I'd like to try it again and see where I went wrong.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

This was tasty. Followed the recipe as is. I would have liked the broth/gravy to be a little thicker. Will make again soon.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
While the chicken did come out tender, we didn't really care for this recipe. It was kind of bland for our taste. Usually I just use a packet of spicy taco seasoning and wanted to try something different tonight. Will probably just stick with the packet from now on.

Mexican Style Shredded Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This was an easy five stars. I had to let it cook a little longer than the seven hours, but that didn't hurt it at all. The pork was delicious and shredded easily. We will be making this again and again. Thank you!

Garlic Chicken with Orzo Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Overall it's a good base recipe that allows for a lot of personal touches. I took the advice of others and cooked the orzo in chicken broth. The chicken was bland for our taste even with some seasoning added. The next time I make this, I'm going to try using my chicken cutlets that have more seasoning in the bread crumbs.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I was out of biscuit mix and looking for a recipe that had ingredients I already had in my cabinets. I didn't have the tartar but the biscuits came out fine without it. We actually like the taste of these biscuits better than the package mix biscuits.

Penne Pasta with Cannellini Beans and Escarole

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
Quick, tasty, and cheap! 4/15/10 This recipe has been in my regular rotation for the past year or so. I have yet to find escarole in my local stores so I've been substituting with fresh spinach and that works out fine. I've also been adding minced garlic, onions, cut up sausage, and using whole grain pasta and organic diced tomatoes.
