Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I didn't roll it and opted to split the beef mixture in half, make a well in the bottom and fill it with cheese, then add the top and seal all around. Didn't use all the cheese and added a little bit of Worcestershire sauce. I should have paid attention to the other reviews about letting it sit for a few minutes so the cheese doesn't goo right out. Can't wait to make again and experiment with different fillings.

Sage Pork Chops

Only change made was omitting the two teaspoons of salt. Will definitely make again.

Cranberry Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
I must have done something wrong so I'm not giving this a lower rating. I couldn't eat these, but my boyfriend did. The only modification I made was to split the sugar, half brown, half white. There was no flavor (other than the tart cranberries), didn't even have a muffin consistency, very dense, stuck to the paper lining, and didn't raise up at all during baking. I won't be trying this again. I'll stick to the cranberry-pumpkin cookies on this site.

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
Delicious. Not gooey like a Cinnabon and exactly what I was looking for. I put the Cinnabon cream cheese frosting on top. Made it Friday night for the perfect Saturday morning breakfast.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
My first time making pizza dough from scratch for zeppoli. They came out great and tasted like my mom used to make. They were not dense or chewy at all.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
3/15/10 - Love it! Have made this a few times and follow the advice of others. I usually end up using a can of beef broth (if I have it) along with the remaining amount of water. I always double up the seasonings called for. I never put in salt. This past weekend I served it on rolls made from Mama D's Italian Bread recipe on this site.

Slower Cooker Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
Came out good with modifications but still a little salty for me. I used a pound of pork and a pound of beef instead of all beef, added half can of cream of mushroom, used enough bread crumbs to hold it together, and a little bit of brown sugar and ketchup on top. Left in for about 5.5 hours on high. Will try chopping up fresh onion and leave out the dry soup mix next time to see if that cuts down the salt enough for me.

Cajun Spiced Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Nice flavor. I cut the cayenne pepper in half because I was afraid it would be too spicy for us to eat and it came out pretty good. Just enough heat for me. I'll probably use garlic powder instead of garlic salt next time because it was a little saltier than I like. Good recipe and very quick and easy to put together.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
I cut the soy sauce in half and it was still salty for my taste. The pork fell off the bone but it was pretty dry. Not a bad recipe but I don't think I'll try it again.

Came out juicy even though I didn't hear my timer and overcooked it some.

Slow Cooker Chicken Creole

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
It turned out okay but we ended up tweaking it. It's kind of frustrating that the creole seasoning says "to taste" when you're first making it because you don't know if you're putting too much or not enough. We ended up adding more towards the end and it still didn't have enough flavor or spice. We also threw in some tomato paste because there was a lot of liquid and not enough tomato flavor. In the end we added some hot sauce into our individual bowls and it tasted just fine. We'll give this recipe another go but will first read through more of the comments to see what other people did.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
Very easy to make. My boyfriend liked it. It was too salty for my taste. Will try again using different brands of sauce/dressing. We also had them on hamburger buns and I think I'll try it on some kind of hard roll next time.

Seven Flavor Hamburger

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
Very tasty! I had used some of my leftover homemade gravy (or meat sauce for some), which is very thick, instead of a jar of tomato sauce, so I didn't have to let it simmer for the 20 minutes. I also had to substitute the white vinegar for red wine because I didn't have any on hand. It turned out very good and will definitely be making again.

Penne Pasta with Cannellini Beans and Escarole

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
Quick, tasty, and cheap! 4/15/10 This recipe has been in my regular rotation for the past year or so. I have yet to find escarole in my local stores so I've been substituting with fresh spinach and that works out fine. I've also been adding minced garlic, onions, cut up sausage, and using whole grain pasta and organic diced tomatoes.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I was out of biscuit mix and looking for a recipe that had ingredients I already had in my cabinets. I didn't have the tartar but the biscuits came out fine without it. We actually like the taste of these biscuits better than the package mix biscuits.
