I started cooking when I was in college because I couldn't stand the cafeteria food. I'm now living in NYC and am trying to keep cooking great meals in one of the smallest kitchens I have ever seen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook simple, elegant food. I try to cook healthfully but I alway end up adding extra butter and olive oil. My favorite recipes from this site are the Pear and Rouquefort Salad, Chicken and Dumplings III and Pasta with Chickend and Mango Cream Sauce.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family recipes include Heavenly Pie (which I'll post a recipe for soon), my grandmother's crisco ladden stuffing and Kugle.
My cooking triumphs
A five course meal I made for my boyfriend on his birthday that I managed to to time well enough that I actually got to sit and enjoy the meal with him, was my greatest cooking triumph.
My cooking tragedies
In an attempt to make a fully homemade strawberry pie I attempted baking the shortbread crust. Upon taking the crust out of the oven I found a buttery looking crust soup. The pie ended up working out though, I just sent my boyfriend out to buy some pre-made pie crust.
