Amish Breakfast Casserole

I've changed this up a bit-- added some flavor by sauteing a bell pepper (green or red) and adding a small can of chopped green chillies. I usually use pan sausage instead of bacon, too. My family loves it.

Pan Dulces

I made these for the first time last year and they were awesome!! I've tried 5 times since yesterday and have been unable to get the dough to rise. Finally "proofed" the yeast separately-- hope that was the trick. It's covered and I'm hoping it dies the first rising. If not, I won't give up-- I just may wait a while to try it again. They're definitely worth it!

Heavenly White Cake

I was not so scientific when I made this cake and it still turned out great. I used all purpose flour and omitted the almond extract (don't like it) -- made it a tablespoon of vanilla (it wasn't a really white cake in the end-- but that's ok). I forgot to add the half cup of sugar to the egg whites-- added it all to the butter, but it didn't matter. It was a tender cake with lots of flavor. Made a chocolate buttercream frosting for it and it was all really rich and wonderful! Made my sullen 13 year old come out of hiding to eat a slice. That's good cake!

Chocolate Pound Cake I

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Awesome, mouth-watering, meat. I didn't use as much hot sauce but we didn't need it. It was quite good as a filler for tamales and we froze some of it for tacos later-- just as good, if not better. Thanks for posting!

Quick Hoppin' John Soup

Added chopped and sauted celery and onion; can of RoTel instead of one can of tomatoes; used chicken broth instead of water; used regular breakfast sausage; and used canned pinto beans (didn't have black-eyed peas). It was really good and filling. Better the next day.

Very easy and quite good. You can vary the flavor by using a different specialty chili powder. I always use chicken broth instead of water. Love it!!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

I've never tried making a box cake with added ingredients-- I thought it would make the cake taste better. But it didn't. A box cake is a box cake. Not terrible-- just a box cake.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I
