Grilled Honey-Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2014
Made exactly per recipe (except baked instead of grilling) and it was very good. The Italian seasoning was a little overpowering for my taste, though.

Italian Chicken Skillet

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2013
Would like to give this 4 1/2 stars because the only problem I had was too much pasta which stuck to the bottom of the pan while the spinach was cooking. Flavors were great. Easy to make in one pan with only a cutting board and a couple of utensils to clean up (after I scour the pan with the burnt on macaroni) Next time will use only about 6 oz. pasta.

Chicken Zucchini Bake

Reviewed: May 15, 2013
Made this last night. I halved the recipe and cooked it in a 7 X 11 pan. I followed the instructions exactly. It looked beautiful and the flavor was good but couldn't really taste the honey mustard. Since the original recipe calls for 3 eggs and I was halfing it, I went ahead and used 2 whole eggs in my "half recipe" and it was still a little on the dry side. This may have been because I used a store brand of crescent rolls and they tend to be a little drier than Pillsbury. So I would recommend using a high quality crescent roll. My daughter who doesn't really care for squash of any kind said it was good and had 2 helpings.

Cranberry Waldorf

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2012
I have served this for the last 3 years with my Thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved it. It's a nice change from the canned fruit cocktail/marshmallow/sourcream salad I grew up with. It is a little on the sweet side with the added sugar and vanilla yogurt but I think it's a perfect blend of sweet and tart.

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2012
This is the recipe I have always used except I use thawed frozen mixed vegetables and I make my crust from scratch. It does taste a little bland without some added seasoning so I sometimes add a little minced garlic. My family always enjoys it. When all 3 of my kids were still at home we never had leftovers!

Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2012
Made this to go over macaroni. Flavor was decent but the recipe itself needs some tweaking. Like several others have said, the milk needs to be heated to boiling for the cornstarch to do it's thing. I also agree with several others that it needs more cheese and/or less milk.

My Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
Made this tonight for a chili supper fundraiser at my daughter's school. It was very tasty! It's sweeter than the chili I usually make but it was a nice change. I'll probably make it again.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Yum! Yum! Yum! These were so good! And easy to make! I especially liked them because they didn't need enchilada sauce which I really don't like. They were creamy and delicious! I left out the chili powder because we don't really like spicy. I also only used 5 tortillas and put them in a smaller baking dish (8X8) so each tortilla was very stuffed. And I used Mexican blend cheese instead of just cheddar.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
This was very tasty! So much better than all the bottled dressings I've tried and very easy to mix up! I did have to cut back on the sugar, though. A half cup seemed like too much so I only used 1/4 cup and it was plenty sweet. Also this makes a lot of dressing! For our family's taste it was too much dressing for just one bag of coleslaw so next time I will either half the dressing recipe or use two bags of coleslaw.

Sweet and Sour Drumettes

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
I realized when I was getting ready to pour the sauce on the chicken that I hadn't checked the reviews and I started to take the time to see what people said about the sauce because it looked really runny but was hoping it would thicken as it cooked. Unfortunately it didn't. I also thought about bringing it to a boil before I poured it on the chicken but since I was running short on time I decided to take a chance. I wish I had followed my instincts because it was still really runny when it was done (as many reviewers pointed out) The flavor was pretty good but probably won't make again.

Bacon Cabbage Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
Made exactly as written and it was very good. Easy to prepare. But I'm only giving 4 stars because it was a little salty for our taste. With the bacon we really didn't need any added salt. Will omit salt next time.

Pineapple Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
This turned out perfect! I cooked the rice a few hours before I needed it and just let it sit and cool. So when I got ready to put it all together it only took about 30 minutes. Really easy! I didn't have sesame oil so I used regular veg oil and I also didn't add any extra salt. The soy sauce provided plenty of salty flavor.

Rosemary Rice

Made exactly as written except for dried rosemary instead of fresh (1/2T.) It was delicious. The perfect side dish with our baked salmon.

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Thank you for this awesome recipe! They are delicious! This is definitely what my daughter's soccer team is getting for after game snacks the next time it's our turn! Those of you who are having trouble with them being too wet or not sticking together, make sure you're using sweetened condensed milk like the recipe calls for and not evaporated milk.

Cheesy Spinach Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
This was pretty easy to put together and tasted okay. I personally think it needs more cheese and eggs. The spinach was a little overpowering but I didn't mind that because I actually like the flavor of spinach but you definitely don't need to cook it for 50 - 60 minutes. I cooked it for 50 minutes and it was way too overdone. I will probably try this again with more cheese - maybe half again as much - and double the eggs and start checking it after 30 minutes and adjust the time from there. Also will grease pan better. It stuck really bad!

Ham N Egg Skillet

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
This should be called Potato, Ham n Egg Skillet because the potatoes are definitely the predominant ingredient. That being said, it was a pretty good recipe. I made it exactly as written and I have to agree with other reviewers who said to put less potato and more egg, unless you just really like the potatoes to be the overriding flavor. I give it 4 stars for easy basic ingredients but only 3 for flavor the way it's written. But it could easily be a 4 if you bumped up the ham, eggs and/or decreased the potatoes.

Grilled Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
Loved the flavor and how easy it was to put together! I marinated in a baggie for about 30 minutes but will do it longer next time. I loved the tangy mustard/lemon flavor. I had to run my daughter to soccer practice so I baked instead of grilling and it turned out great - very tender and juicy. Can't wait to try it grilled next time!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Made this exactly as written and it turned out very moist and flavorful. Will likely use this recipe again - if I want pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing. Because it really isn't bars, I'm giving this only 4 stars. But if you cook it in a jelly roll pan like the instructions say, it is thin enough to cut into "bars" and eat it with your fingers - which we did!
