Robin's Nests

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2014
Pretty darn cute and yummy too. I followed the recipe, for the most part, but I did substitute pecans for walnuts. I also mixed a few of the chopped pecans into the dough. I baked on parchment. I will probably make these again next Easter.

Fudge Truffle Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
This was delicious. It was pretty easy as far as cheesecakes go. I halved the chocolate chips, split the batter in half, and put the melted chocolate in half, and then put pumpkin in the other half. I did add a few tablespoons of flour to the batter. It turned out perfectly. It is super rich, so cut it small.

This is an amazing recipe. It's simple, easy to follow, easy to make, and absolutely delicious. I made no changes, and they turned out perfectly.

Pumpkin Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
These turned out pretty well. I agree with a previous post, the brownies are a bit greasy, I might cut down the butter. Mine also took much less time than 40 minutes to bake, only about 25 or 30 minutes. They were relatively tasty.

Dessertlover's Classic Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Wonderful result, although I had a few minutes of panic during the process. It took much longer that 5 to 10 minutes to caramelize the sugar, and it really solidified when I added the cream, but in the end it was delicious and the perfect consistency.

Paneer

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
This was a simple and yummy recipe. It turned out perfectly! It was surprisingly easy, and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I may not fry it next time. I served it with saag, chicken and cauliflower over rice. I will definitely use it again.

Indian Saag

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
This recipe was fine, but it needed a dollop of yogurt at the end. I didn't use the whole cumin seeds, and added garam masala and a little honey. Overall, an okay recipe, that needs a few changes to make it really good.

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I followed the recipe, and they turned out beautifully. I don't have a spaetzle maker, so I used a flat cheese grater. I didn't wait 5 to 8 minutes, but just waited until they floated to the top, and scooped them out with a slotted spoon. I served with cabbage, meatballs, onions, and sour cream sauce.

Edamame Dip (Edamole)

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I made this pretty much following the recipe (I used dried chipotle instead of canned), and it came out dry and gritty. I added lime juice, salsa, and cream, and then blended it in the food processor for a long time. In the end it came out okay.

Peach Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
This is wonderful ice cream. I made it up last night, and it wouldn't seem to set. Finally, after running my ice cream maker in the freezer for an hour, it thickened up to milkshake consistency. I thought it might get better after sitting in the freezer for a night, and voila, this morning we had perfect peach ice cream.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
Pretty good. The cobbler dough came out too wet and thin, but overall it tasted good. It did not keep well, and I would recommend eating it the same day it is baked.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Perfect for a summer dessert or for brunch. Everyone said it was great. I will make it again. I think it would be slightly improved if there was a little more flour in the topping mixture.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This turned out pretty well, the guests loved it, but I thought the filling was a little soft. I think next time I'll use a recipe that has just a bit of flour in it, to make it a tiny bit more cakey. I substituted gingerbread crumbs for graham cracker crumbs for the crust.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
Excellent recipe. I don't have a bread machine, so I just used the kitchen aid (proofing the yeast in 110 degree sugar/water mixture, letting it rise until double in size, and then following the rest of the recipe). They came out very tender and poofy. Make sure you watch them carefully, they can burn easily.

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Excellent recipe! It was clear, and easy to follow. I followed the recipe exactly as written. I topped with white chocolate whipped cream frosting and fresh strawberries. Four of us ate the whole cake within 12 hours. Yum!

Poppy Seed Bread with Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
This recipe went over well. It turned out more like a cake than a bread, but it was yummy. I reduced the oil to 1 cup, and omitted the almond extract and butter flavoring. The glaze turned it from good to great.

Hamantashen

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
These turned out really well. I did make a few small adjustments; I reduced the butter to 1 cup, and increased the sugar to 1.5 cups. I used a variety of fillings including jam, poppy seeds and peanut butter with chocolate. They were a hit.

Angel Food Cake III

This recipe came out perfectly! I made the cake for a friend's birthday and it was a hit. I had never made angelfood cake before and I was a little nervous, but it came out better than store-bought.
