Cucumber and Mint Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
I made this salad because I was growing some mint, and needed to find a use for it. I was intrigued by the garbanzo beans/raisin combination. I made the salad as the directions stated, and the first night it was very bland. My husband thought there was something missing also. However, the next day, the salad was much, much better. The flavors had been able to mix together, and I liked the combination of cucumbers/beans and raisins. The mint wasn't very strong, but it was a nice surprise in some mouthfuls. I'd give it 1 star the day you make it, but 4 stars if you let it set.

Deni's Strawberry Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
I took the advice of a previous reviewer and only added 1/3 cup of lemon juice. It was delicious! It is important to let the pie set for at least 2 hours before serving it - that allows the creamy layer to set up.

Griddle Style Philly Steak Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
My husband made these twice, and they were a hit both times. He's pretty particular about his Philly sandwiches, but this one made the cut.

Ali's Greek Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
My husband gave it 3 stars, but the rest of us gave it 5. When I made it, I had a potent red onion, so I didn't put in as much as the recipe called for. The onion is an important flavor ingredient though, so next time I'd put in at least the amount called for, not matter what my onion was like. Delicious.

Lighter Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2007
These were good. There wasn't necessarily anything overly exciting happening in the flavor department, but they were a good, basic banana muffin. They also slid right out of the muffin cups.

Authentic South Indian Biryani

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
Wow! My family loved this recipe. I followed the recipe as written, and while it did take a while to prepare, I felt the flavors developed nicely. It wasn't quite what I was expecting when I pulled it out of the oven; there was very little sauce, but my kids (3 and 5 years old) ate it like it was going out of style. I will definitely be making this again.

Yummy! I used Tony's seasoning on the Tilapia, instead of salt, pepper and cajun spices and it was delicious.

The flavor of these is good, but they really flatten out when I make them.

These are the best! Easy to make, yummy, and my husband and I were able to have leftovers for lunch after popping them in the freezer. I'm definitely making this again.

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
I had high hopes for this one, but was a bit disappointed. It was almost too rich to eat; more of it wasn't eaten than was. I would recommend planning to eat the entire loaf the day you make it, as leftovers don't age well.
