Just my dog and I cookin' up a storm! When it comes to cooking and trying new things, I like going home to the country where mom and I can make favorites or try new dishes. The big kitchen doesn't hurt either!
My favorite things to cook
Pot roasts and stews, broccoli cheese soup, yeast breads (no bread machine, though!), cakes, fruit tarts, sweet and sour chicken, lemonades, and anything else that comes highly recommended!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up in rural Minnesota we ate a lot of farm-type foods that will always be my favorites... soups, mashed potatoes, slow cooked meats, fresh bread, apple pie, and fresh veggies.
My cooking triumphs
Saucepan brownies are my claim to fame. I've also recently become a bread wiz ( it's all in the quality of the flour!) I also have fun doing what I call "dump cooking." I take pretty much everything in my fridge that's about to expire and find someway to make it all work together so that I don't have to throw anything away... a must if you live alone and are on a student budget!!
