About this Cook
Work for GO Transit which is a regional commuter railway and buses in Ontario . I like to cook because it is relaxing and not very stressful. Would like to go to cooking school part-time in the near future to be better at it.
My favorite things to cook
Beef, Nordic type foods and european foods but French cooking can be tough to do. Also like comfort foods for winter time. Because if winter is bad that's the one thing to look forward to, good food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother taught me the basics about cooking. She started cooking when she was 11 years old. Being the only girl you had to learn fast and not make too many mistakes. So I learned from her. Also I started reading recipe books and going by the recipe until I felt comfortable to just do it.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking last years Thanksgiving dinner for my wife's family. Had some help towards the end to serve and whatnot. It turned out good but made too much food. My wife said before everybody came if they brought doggie bags to take something home with them.
My cooking tragedies
Making banana loaf and not having any baking soda. My wife said we had some but she forgot she used it all. This is when I was making everything to put in the bowl. So had to go running across the street to the store and get some.

Beef Bourguignon I
This is a great recipe for Beef Bourguignon. I have made it over three times and never had a problem. It does take time to make and shortcuts are not recommended. It is rich but this comfort food to the max. Some potatoes or noodles is good for it or a couple of loaves of good French bread.

Super Scrambled Eggs Number One
This was a very good recipe. I cooked the egg mixture in a seperate pan because I did not want to use bacon grease. I also added a bit of chili powder to give it some heat.

Finnish Turnips
Sounds like a good recipe. I also put 1/2 teaspoon of allspice and use regular breadcrumbs instead of cornflake crumbs. I omitted the egg though.
