Maple Pecan Granola

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
So good! I used wheat germ vs flax seed and vanilla vs maple flavoring.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

This is so good and an easy way to use leftover chicken. My one year old loves it. I think it's good as written, but I usually add lemon pepper and garlic powder.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
Excellent! As suggested by another reviewer, I mixed everything in a paper bag and baked at 200 degrees for half an hour, stirring once.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
Wow - this was AWESOME! It had so much flavor, and the sauce was amazing! I doubled the recipe and it was still done within 6 hours of cooking. Did leave out the mushrooms, but I'm sure they would have tasted great too. Also, I put it in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes after putting the sauce on just to dry it up a tiny bit. The only thing lacking slightly was the presentation because the loaf kind of spread out into the shape of the crock pot...but it tasted so good, I don't care!

Vinegar Based BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: May 11, 2012
It's not quite the BBQ sauce from our favorite Carolina BBQ restaurant, but it's the closest I've made at home! I used it in the crock pot to make pulled pork for sandwiches - delicious! I was a little scared by the tablespoon (!) of salt, but it really gave the pork great flavor, especially considering we're using it more for marinating/basting than to pour on top of a sandwich. Thanks!

These have always received rave reviews when I make them. I've always used vanilla instead of the brandy.

Hamburger Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
Very good! I made the following changes so it is more like the soup my mom made when I was growing up: added 1 tbsp oregano, a bay leaf, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Added chopped potatoes and green beans. My husband loved it!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
Great texture and flavor - must be the combo of butter and shortening. They were a little soft to roll, but if I had been more patient, some time in the fridge probably would have helped that. :)

Hoisin-Ginger Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
Very yummy and easy. I didn't have time to marinate besides spreading it over the beef - still tasted great. I added green pepper and red onion slices. Yum!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
After grilling, I brought the leftover marinade to a low boil on the stove and added cornstarch to make a thicker glaze that we had at the table for people to pour over their salmon. What a hit! Even people who didn't like salmon had seconds!

Tasty! The mint and lime are very subtle but make fruit in to a real salad!

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
FANTASTIC! Sooooooo foolproof! I was going to make my husband his favorite dessert - cheesecake for his birthday, and he's changed his request to this pie! An awesome homemade graham cracker crust really makes a big difference too! Save time on juicing limes by buying the juice - still tastes awesome! I will make this over and over again!

Buttery Corn Bread

I didn't get to taste the fruits of my labor, but I was told everyone at the potluck said it was the best cornbread they ever had. I added about 1/2 cup honey.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Easy and delicious for dinner. I used brown sugar and baked at 350 for an hour. Very tender. Could have been slightly less salty, but when served on rice, the salt was balanced out. Will be making this again!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
Wow, thank you for helping me make an awesome cheesecake! This was the first one I have ever made, and it set perfectly without cracks. I doubled the crust so I would lots for the sides as well (used 1 1 1/2 cups crumbs, 1/4 cup butter, and 1/4 cup sugar for each batch of crust, as suggested by other reviewers). I greased the whole pan really well, used room temperature ingredients, tried to minimize mixing time, and used a water bath. I didn't have time to let it sit in the oven for 6 hours, but 1 1/2 hours worked well, and after sitting in the fridge overnight, this is the best cheesecake ever!!
