Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2015
Pretty good. Don't cook it too long though. I let it go for 6 hours and that really dried it out, but it was still good. Also I didn't have ground beef so I used sausage. Really good flavor and a nice easy alternative to my typical lasagne.

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2015
Yum! Yum! Yum! I don't know what savory is though, so I left that out. I used real crab meat and it was yummy. For an appetizer, it is pretty expensive, but it tastes great and seems really fancy.

Easy Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2015
Fine but nothing special. I cooked it in the crock pot and was surprised how little the beer taste cooked out. It tasted like pork cooked in beer without any other flavors. It needs other flavors too.....not sure what though. It was fine, but I wont make again.

Honey-Garlic Slow Cooker Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2014
Fine, but not great. I think it needs more to be good (maybe some brown sugar and some sweet chili sauce). Honey can be a nightmare to get out of slow cooker, make sure to spray the crockpot with nonstick first.

Kids loved! Served with this site's country scalloped potatoes and it was a nice hearty meal. Made as written.

Country Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2014
The kids went bonkers for this. Only had enough for an 8x8 pan and everyone was mad that I didn't make more. Subbed cream of celery for cream of mushroom and subbed ham for bacon.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

A touch bland, so I added jalapeño, made the house smell fantastic.

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2014
I deviated a bit from the recipe, but the base is good. I left out cinnamon (for some reason cinnamon and meat together just seems weird) and added some honey, Worcestershire, and sweet chili sauce. The cooking time is too long. I did them on low for four hours and that was beyond plenty. So do yourself a favor and don't set them on low for an entire work day, because you will come home to some burnt pork. I also think that meat should always be seasoned, so I seasoned mine before I put it in the crock pot.

I thought I LOVED coconut milk, but it turns out I don't like this much coconut milk flavor.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2014
My husband liked these, but he likes this site's Grill Master wings way better. He thought the sauce was a tad too sweet to give it more stars.

S'more Brownies

Followed the recipe exactly and it was awesome. That's no surprise though, how could this recipe possibly be anything but delicious? Brownies + Smores is delicious.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Pretty tasty. It isn't mind blowing, but it did doll up some cheap pork chops.

Extremely rich, but good. Also, good for portion control because one is enough!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
Didn't love these.....I think the powdered sugar can be completely omitted. The peanut butter/sugar mix left a weird coating in my mouth. I used mini muffin tins without a liner, and it worked fine. Also, I microwaved the peanut butter so it was easier to work with. These would probably be better with a bit of tweaking. As is, they were only okay,

Chicken Yakisoba

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2013
Loved it! Followed recipe except I wasn't sure what the chile paste was.....I used chinese garlic chile paste, maybe that is the same thing......I'm not sure. It was spicy but good. Instead of match sticking the carrots I just shaved it with my veggie peeler. I used spaghetti noodles instead.

Pizza Chicken

Pretty good; followed recipe exact. The three separate bowls for breading is kind of a pain, but other than that it is good and easy. Used pepperoni on the kids' and Canadian bacon on the adults'.

This didn't go over too well. I liked it, hubby hated it. He thought the corn bread was too sweet, I agree somewhat.

Chef John's Caramel Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
Best pie ever!!! It was ridiculously good; everyone loved it. It was beautiful to look at and tasted great. Followed the recipe exact except I used less water in the caramel, floured the apples, and put egg white on the crust so it would brown. I used gala and pink lady's. it was not watery, it was oozing caramel, which was awesome!!!

Chef John's Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
Good but kind of bland; needs garlic. My husband is taking the left overs for lunch tomorrow; he asked me to sprinkle cheddar on top so when he microwaves it it well melt over it. That might make it less bland.
