Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
I don't know what you were thinking saying to combine the eggs and flour to start! That's just bad cooking technique! I started to make these as you said (giving it a chance)and ended up with clumps, even using my hand mixer and adding all the milk and whatnot.... You need to change the instructions to have it make more sense. I'm sure everything combined makes a good crepe but I'm also sure that every experienced cook that has tried this recipe, looks at the instructions and changes them up for themselves and turns out great crepes. I am not going to do that, I'll look for another one.

Creamy Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
I tired this making it exactly and I don't understand why people think it's a hollandaise sauce... I think the 3 tablespoons was a typo and needs to be teaspoons. The second time I made it (the first batch was garbage), I cut the butter in half and uses about 1 1/2 teaspoons of lemon juice and it was perfect. Thank you for teaching me the basics of how to make the sauce but the lemon was way, way, way too much!!

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
I for some reason have a problem with the moistness of the cake. I know I don't over cook it. But it just isn't as moist like I would hope. Besides that, the filling and the icing....... incredible!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
Finally a moist banana muffin!! These are just the recipe that I was looking for. I am catering a bridal shower brunch and needed a good recipe. The ones I've made in the past have always turned out dry or crumbly or just not the way I hoped. But I will search no more! I may spruce up the recipe another time if I am feeling creative, but making it as the recipe is, is just perfect!! Thank you so much!! You have no idea how excited I am to have finally found the perfect banana muffin recipe! You rock!

Dutch Babies II

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
Delicious! I made mine in a pyrex pie plate ( I didn't have a big enough iron skillet). My butter burned a bit as it warmed up in the oven, but didn't make a difference in the taste, I may wait to put the butter in next time. But thanks! I topped mine with butter powdered sugar and a squeeze of lemon and it was just perfect! Thanks so much!!

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
I noticed some people complained about it not being spicy enough. The only thing you need to add to give it that special kick people may be looking for, besides doubling the spices, is a 1/4t of cayenne! It's just that simple!

Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
My grandma made these with her mom when she was young. That was before Taste of Home existed! It's the exact recipe too!! I want to let people know that if you measure out your balls exactly to two teaspoons (I have a little cookie ball scooper that measures that exactly) you will have no leftover fillng! It will be perfect. Maybe a tiny bit leftover, but nothing worth fussing over. I love these and make them every Christmas and they get devoured!

Peach Cobbler I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
I made this exactly as is and it turned out wonderful! I had no issues or problems. I think the only thing I might do next time is maybe add some vanilla to the batter and/or some cinnamon to the peaches. But no complaints, it was great!! Thank you for the recipe!

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
These were great! I left out the nuts (I have a baby under 1 year) and added more blueberries and used whole wheat pastry flour. Thank you so much for a healthy muffin I can offer my kids!!!

Pesto

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
This was awesome!! Perfect mix.... with only one exception..... it needed salt. I think I put about a 1/4 to a 1/2 teaspoon in there. Then it was perfect! I did try a couple other pesto recipes on here (I forget what it was called, but it had toasted almonds in it.... way to nutty for me!), and this one is what pesto is supposed to taste like, slightly nutty, garlicy and perfectly full of basil and parm... Thanks so much!

Peanut Butter Heaven

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
I made these and they were awesome!! I loved that it has healthy ingredients inside (I used whole wheat pastry flour)! The amount of chocolate on top was a bit surprising.... I may make a little less next time but that's the only thing I'd do different! Thanks for the recipe, I will definitely make it again!

Bread Machine Challah I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This was my first time trying out a challah bread recipe. After reading the reviews I decided to do the right thing and try the actual recipe without altering it. It tasted good. I make it for a french toast bake and was a huge hit. My only comments on the bread is that it did become incredibly crumbly and seemed a bit on the dry side. I made it late at night and cut it up the next morning. It was incredibly hard to get a clean cut of bread with out crumbs going everywhere. Bur I have nothing to compare it to. I will probably try to look for a different recipe next time.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
This recipe was fantastic! I had never made meatloaf before and I decided to try this one. The only thing I did different was add about a teaspoon and a half of garlic powder and I doubled the topping. But it was great! Thank you so much posting this meatloaf! I will definitely use it again!

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
These are fantastic!! I've made them many times. The original recipe is perfect! Just so everyone knows, no adjusting needed besides the cooking time, mine only cooked for 18 mins and that was all that was needed. But what I love about this recipe is how healthy it is and how easy it is to add different flavors. I've added peanut butter, ground almonds, chopped roasted almonds, mini chocolate chips, I've even added a couple handfuls of grape nuts! With all that extra adding, I did add another egg, but I love it all! Thank you so much for this recipe, oh yea, I decreased the brown sugar to 1/2 cup and it's still fine! Thanks again! My husband and son thank you as well!

Buttery Corn Bread

I made this exactly as it was written and got so many compliments on it! My sister-in-law said it was the best she's ever had! It's perfectly light and sweet and really does melt in your mouth. It's exactly the type of cornbread I was looking to make! Thanks for the recipe!

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
I made this recipe for a dinner party I had the other day, and it was a huge hit! The only thing I did different was substitute orange juice for sherry (I didn't have sherry on me). The way the sugar caramelized on the grill made for it nice and crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside! Thank you so much! I will pass this recipe around and definitely make it again!
