Rosemary Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
I have had a favorite cookie recipe since I was a child, but yesterday me and my girls made these cookies and that once favorite cookie has been replaced by these cookies. My best tip is DO NOT OVERBAKE. Don't wait for the edges to get too brown. We liked them on the much paler side. So beautiful, unique, and if you love rosemary and shortbread, so perfect!!!! I made another kind of cookie after this and though I am sure the cookie was absolutely fab it greatly paled in comparison to these. It is refreshing to try something different and these are a pleaser! Do not change the recipe at all because it is perfect. Although I must confess, over time, I would like to expirement with a few other herbs. A good cookie if you want to impress or have friends for a tea party. I felt like the workds best cookie maker when I made these! Approved by kids dads grandpas and moms and soon to be grandmas I am sure. Something I notice with these that was unlike cookies I have had in the past, I could taste each seperate taste individually-butter, salt, rosemary and a some sugar sweetness, and then I could taste them together at the same time. That, to me, was kind of interesting. Also they are very rich! I can eat cookies, believe me, but I can only eat 1 or 2 of these at a time, and trust me, that's fine. Like good dark chocolate, just a little is enough to satisfy because the quality is so good. I got 48 round cookie from this batch.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
I was not too concerned with the tradition this recipe only in that I don't mind tweaking it a bit. I like to dice up baby carrots and water chesnuts to enrich the color, flavor and texture. Although it is not at all nesscecary is sure is great to add those. This is a favorite for me to make and to eat. SOOOOO yummy!!!! Satisfying to make serve and eat. Highest rating.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
My family loves this EASY and delicious meal and fell in love with it the first time I used it. That was a long time ago but I still get requests for it from my family. So easy you might even feel a little guilty. Fast food meets home cooking. For health reasons I would not normally use canned biscuits but this is great when you're too darn tired or pressed for time. It really is scrumptious!!!!

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
I made this when I had company for dinner. Though it was thoroughly done it was pretty darn wet and I wished I had cooked it better to dry it out some. I used extra lean beef. The flavor was very nice. I personally did not care for the look of the tomato chunks in it. I would use tomato paste not chucks, if I were to use this recipe again. But that is really just a personal preference. I feel very strongly that food should not only be good but should also be visually pleasing. This meatloaf, to me, was not. But, like I said, the flavor was really nice. Thank goodness I was cooking for my bachelor father who didn't care about the appearance (I think) and was glad to have a tasty home cooked meal.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
My kids picked fresh blackberries from the back yeard and then made this recipe. It was really good. Although we all agreed we would like more of the bread part and we would double that. What the kids did instead since we did not have a pot that could be put in the oven I had her boil the sauce on teh stovetop and then pour it in the pan and put the bread part on that. It looked completely different than the photo here but it was delicious. The bread part reminded me of shortbread.
