Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
Absolutely divine! Perfect flavoring. I'm not usually one for sauces, or, rather, I don't dislike sauces but prefer when food can stand on its own and a sauce complements it instead of overpowering it. This did the trick.

Black Bean and Artichoke Burritos

Reviewed: May 2, 2006
This had so much more flavor than I expected. I really loved it, and will definitely make it again. The market I was at didn't have regular tortillas, so I bought roasted red pepper ones, which I thought worked out nicely.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2006
Just wonderful! I actually used a hybrid of user advice here and ended up with this layer combination (from bottom up): Layer 1-refried beans Layer 2-Cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning Layer 3-Guacamole Layer 4-Tomatoes, green peppers, green onions, and lettuce Layer 5-Salsa Layer 6-Shredded Cheddar cheese Layer 7-Black beans I really liked this combination of ingredients and didn't find the lettuce or any of the other vegetables to be bothersome. I didn't know whether I would prefer this dish hot or cold, so I served it warm the first night, and we had the leftovers cold. I love it either way, and plan to make it again, both for my own family and for get-togethers, for which it is perfect in terms of size.

Sweet Potatoes With Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
When I first told my sister I was going to make this dish, she thought it sounded disgusting. I chose to make it because I like trying new things, and I had never seen these two things paired together before. I've got to say that this combination was a delightful surprise. I thought it was absolutely delicious, and even my sister who dislikes sweet potatoes said it came out better than she expected. I'll make this over and over again in the years to come.

Broccoli With Lemon Almond Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
The only way I can really describe this is good but forgettable. I do like the almonds with the broccoli. This is something I'd make if I were trying to be healthy but not if I were trying to impress company.

Spinach Salad with Baked Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I LOVE Goat Cheese Salads, and this one just didn't do it for me. I'll try it again sometime with a different Goat Cheese (I'm sure that the one you pick makes or breaks this salad). I also had trouble coating the cheese with bread crumbs the way I wanted to, but that was probably just user error.

Greek Salad V

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
This was another great salad. I left out the olives, and it still worked for me. I had to add lettuce, even though I know traditional Greek salads don't use it.

Beautiful Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I think it's great when you can't stop eating a salad because it tastes so good. It just shows that things that are healthy for you can also taste great! This was a fabulous salad. The only thing is that, for me, the amount of dressing was excessive. But that's an easy fix.

Chicken Soup With Black Beans and Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
Wow! As I was making this I stole a few tastes and was wondering whether or not it would taste great when it was finished. As soon as I served it to all my family members, they couldn't stop raving about how amazing this soup was. I have to agree. I loved the Southwestern Flair; it reminded me of home. I follwed this recipe to a tee and will do so again and again. I can see why this recipe was featured in USA Today. It'd be a great idea if you need something to make for LOTS of people, since it is a HUGE amount of soup. Even with four of us eating, there was enough left over for all of us for DAYS. And it's just as good reheated.

Shrimp Verde

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I'm not the biggest shrimp fan, so saying that I loved this is surprising to me. I've made it twice and liked it better the first time I made it because I used a freshly shredded Romano-Parmesan cheese mix instead of grated Parmesan.

Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I absolutely loved this one. It was my first time making salmon, and it was a very easy and tasty recipe. I wouldn't change anything about it.

Italian Style Meatloaf II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
Let me preface this by saying that I am by no means a meatloaf connoisseur and that this was my first attempt at a meatloaf. I did like this, but I have had others that I have liked better. I feel like it could've had a little more flavor. The ones that I've had in the past have used sliced and crumbled bread instead of bread crumbs, and I'm leaning toward that style a little more right now.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I agree that the amount of Bleu Cheese listed in this recipe is too much. I took one commenter's advice and just spread a thin layer of it on the pizza dough, which helped a lot. I also disliked how the Boboli crust tasted the first time, so I picked up some fresh (but uncooked) pizza dough at the bakery section in a local market. That tasted MUCH better. I do have one caveat, though, with this pizza, and perhaps someone can give me some useful advice. I've made this twice, and both times, a good quarter of an inch underneath where the cheese meets the bread is soggy, and this just adds an unpleasant texture to the meal. Is there a way to get around this? For instance, putting the chicken above the cheese as opposed to directly on the crust? If I could fix that one thing, it would definitely bump this recipe up to 5 stars because I love the taste of it. I'd appreciate any help anyone could give!

Blissful Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
It sounded like it would be amazing with the prosciutto and fontina, and that part was great but I actually found that the chicken itself tasted rather bland. I agree with the reviewer who said that it didn't have the "wow factor." I wasn't clear on whether the prosciutto should completely envelop the chicken or not, so I don't think I bought large enough slices. Perhaps that is the reason why I didn't enjoy it as much as others seemed to. Sorry.

Roasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I'm not sure if it's always like this, but the spread soaked through the top of the bread making the bread taste kind of soggy. Neither my sister nor I liked that. I'd be willing to try making it once again, but if I get the same results, I'll search for another recipe.

Artichoke Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I expected that I'd really like this one, but I think it was a little too heavy on the mayo for my taste. I'll try it again with that edit. Also, I would recommend adding the tomatoes as well. It added a little extra flavor.
