Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
It was a good recipe but too sweet for my taste. I might cut out the condensed milk next time.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
Absolutely delicious as is. Here are a few changes I made the second time around: I used 4 oz of cream cheese and 4 oz of sour cream and did not use butter with the topping, but simply sprinkled bread crumbs on top. They pretty much absorbed the fat from the cheese etc. during baking. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Theeee best biscuits. My kids love Bojangles and say these are as good, if not better. I've tried to make enough to have some to freeze, but they always disappear. Thank you for a great recipe!

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I give this recipe 5 stars because the ingredients are perfect. The changes I made are to the amounts because of personal preference. I used 1 cup each of the sour cream and mayo, 1/4 tsp. worcester sauce, 1/4 tsp black pepper and a splash of milk to make the dressing more fluid. The blue cheese I used was strong in flavor so I didn't increase it. Very good dressing. Thanks for sharing.

Cinnamon Plum Jam

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
We bought a house two years ago and when I cleared the brush in the backyard I found a plum tree. I set out to make whatever I could. As with some other reviewers, my jam would not set either. I followed the recipe exactly. So, I'm gonna try one more time. We will use this batch as syrup as others have suggested.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
I ran out of my german pudding mix and then, for the first time, read the ingredients on the package. So, I set out to find a recipe with the same ingredients and this was it. Fabulous. I've made it three times already, double the recipe and fill it in small dishes. To avoid the skin (I love it but my kids don't), I place a piece of saran wrap directly on top of the hot pudding and it works great. A delicious recipe and keeper. Thank you very much.

Polish Style Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
Loved it. I made this exactly as described and the kids liked it as well. The fat content is a bit too high for me. Getting older and can't tolerate it as much. So I will make this again, just not that often, or cut down on the butter and cream cheese. Thank you for a great recipe.

Laurie's Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
I probably won't be making this recipe again. My family wasn't very fond of it. I didn't think it was bad, but bland. The best part about it were the mashed potatoes with the melted cheddar cheese on top. Otherwise it was okay but not thrilling. Maybe some spices would perk it up a bit.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
Absolutely wonderful change from the regular spaghetti we usually eat. The entire family loved it. My husband was sad when the left overs were gone and asked to make it again soon. I didn't change anything. Thanks so much for this recipe.

Blueberry Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
I still like Grandma Johnsons scones the best. Anyway, just made these. The dough was a bit wet, as others have said, but I floured my hands for each scone which made it workable. I also used frozen blueberries, some broke, most were intact. The result was alright, but not sweet or buttery enough for me. I think I would top them with a sugar glaze, but that's preference. It just seems like there is something missing. Some like it more plain, others more sweet. The scones are nice and soft with a crunchy edge. I gave this a four, but prob. won't make it again unless my friends and family like them. Thank you.

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
Very good bars. I do suggest to leave them at room temperature before serving. I served mine right from the fridge and the crust was too hard. Later, it was perfect and delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

Nut Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
Loved them. It took me a long time to grind the walnuts (I have since bought me a better nut grinder), but otherwise easy to do. Two of my rolls cracked open a bit during baking. I'm not sure if that was because I rolled the dough out too thin or added too much filling. It didn't matter. They tasted wonderful. A little goes a long way as it is quite filling. I froze all but one loaf. Thanks for the great recipe.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
Absolutely delicious. I didn't change a thing other than I added Craisins and may use less sugar next time because they were sweetened already. My kids said it's a winner. This would be great with the Devonshire Cream. Thank you.

Raw Vegetable Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
I just made this salad and it was delicious. Oh my gosh, a definite keeper. I used regular peanuts cause that's all I had on hand, but it was a little too salty and I will use raw nuts next time. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you.

Cheesy Macaroni and Beef Casserole with Thyme

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2007
I just made this and it was awesome. I did change a few things because I go with feeling rather than just amounts. I browned the onions with mashed garlic and the beef. Added whipping cream and a little milk to make it saucy. Added paprika and a lot more worshester sauce and about half the flour. I also used a can of diced tomatoes including the juices. All the kids had seconds. We had a green salad on the side. Thanks for the idea.

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
This was the best chicken salad I ever ate. The ingredients blend so well together. My husband finished almost all of it at dinner. Very tasty. I baked bread sticks to go with it. Thank you for a great recipe. Update: We own a cafe and have included this recipe in the menu. The chicken salad is always gone. People love it.

I added roasted pine nuts instead of the walnuts and a bit more vinegar. Very tasty that way. Thank you.
