About this Cook
Stay at home mom of three and former Hospice Nurse. Lived in the US for 24 years. When people tell me I don't work and how lucky I am to sit around at home, I go crazy. I've done the going to work for pay and the stay at home work for free. Comparing the two leads me to the conclusion, that the latter is by far more challenging. Not to mention the lack of pay. It is also the most rewarding. This,of course aided in my becoming a better cook. No choice there, right? Baking is my favorite thing to do in the kitchen, though.
My favorite things to cook
German dishes and deserts. My favorite desert being Linzertorte. I love soups, salads and tomato dishes the best. Chicken is okay, but I could live without meat and poultry.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Don't have one. Maybe that's because they all run when kitchen duties call.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese
Absolutely delicious as is. Here are a few changes I made the second time around: I used 4 oz of cream cheese and 4 oz of sour cream and did not use butter with the topping, but simply sprinkled bread crumbs on top. They pretty much absorbed the fat from the cheese etc. during baking. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Easy Biscuit Mixture
Theeee best biscuits. My kids love Bojangles and say these are as good, if not better. I've tried to make enough to have some to freeze, but they always disappear. Thank you for a great recipe!

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing
I give this recipe 5 stars because the ingredients are perfect. The changes I made are to the amounts because of personal preference. I used 1 cup each of the sour cream and mayo, 1/4 tsp. worcester sauce, 1/4 tsp black pepper and a splash of milk to make the dressing more fluid. The blue cheese I used was strong in flavor so I didn't increase it. Very good dressing. Thanks for sharing.
