Baked Ziti I

could benefit from more cheese. I made it without meat, and had too much sauce. So if omitting meat, decrease sauce.

Cheese Cake Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
My husband liked these, but I thought they were too bland. Maybe would've been better with fruit topping. I followed some reviewers' suggestions and added 1 c. sour cream & an extra 1/4 c. sugar. For the crust I combined 2 1/2 c. crushed wafers with 1/4 c. melted butter.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
I love this recipe, have made it several times and ALWAYS get rave reviews! Use hot enchilada sauce for more spice. This last time I made it I used medium and thought it needed a little more kick.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
The description says it all, "fancy taste w/o all the work". The flavor was great but mine came out a little dry. Could have been the cake mix I used, but next time I'll double the brewed coffee and liqueur mixture to moisten it up - as others have mentioned. Be sure to beat frosting well enough that it is nice and thick. Next time instead of sprinkling with cocoa powder I think I'll use chocolate mocha instant hot cocoa mix for a little more chocolatey taste.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2005
I don't know if I did something wrong, but these were just okay. I followed the recipe exactly and my brownies came out alright, nothing spectacular. And my frosting was way too dry. I will probably try this recipe again with some modifications. These were, however, fun to make from scratch.

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
My husband loved this! The color is not the most appealing, but it tastes great. I served over mashed potatoes. I used cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of celery as recommeded by another reviewer. I also cut the chicken into bite sized pieces about half way through cooking to finish cooking faster. I have a large crock pot and with the chicken cut in to small pieces it only took about 2 1/2 hours to cook. It was so simple and fast. I do agree with other reviewers that this recipe could benefit from more seasonings and some chopped veggies, but it's still great as is.

Fondue with Tequila

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I'm undecided about this recipe. My husband liked it but thought it needed more tequila. I thought it was too bland. We dipped shrimp and bread as suggested. The shrimp went well with it, but I used some sourdough bread that I had and it didn't go well with the fondue at all. IF I try this recipe again I will add more tequila and use a different kind of bread. On the upside, it was very easy and quick.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I made these for Thanksgiving and took them to my grandparents' (who used to own a bakery). Everyone loved them, especially my grandfather! My only trouble with the recipe was trying to form the dough into balls. My dough was too sticky. I may try refrigerating the dough first next time. I used way more than 2 Tablespoons sugar to roll the dough in. They do spread when baking so be sure to space them out on the cookie sheet. Thanks for the recipe! These were great for the holidays.

Banana Cream Pie Made Easy

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
My husband and I loved this recipe. I don't usually like banana cream pies but this one was soooo good! I ended up making 2 pies because it makes so much filling. I used the "Nilla" pie shells and 5 or 6 bananas. The whipped cream isn't enough for both pies so if you are going to make 2 pies from this recipe you may want to double the whipping cream. I added a little powdered sugar and vanilla extract to my whipping cream to sweeten it up. My pies came out thicker in texture than banana cream pies we've tried before. I don't know if it's the recipe or if I whipped the mixture too long. Either way...it tasted great!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
These are the best cookies ever! My husband is known for making the best chocolate chip cookies and he even admitted these blew his out of the water! I followed the recipe exactly and the cookies turned out perfect! Mine didn't spread when baking, they kept a nice rounded shape so I was able to put a bunch on each cookie sheet. 4 days later they are still soft and chewy...and DELICIOUS! Recipe does make alot, but they will be gone so fast! Be sure to use a standing mixer to mix dough.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
My husband LOVED this! I even liked it alot and I don't usually like cream cheese desserts. I followed the recipe. Mixed cream cheese mixture with an electric mixer until smooth. Didn't need to bake bottom layer first like some reviewers mentioned. Mine came out great...and I'm NOT a good cook! Absolutely the best after being refrigerated. Recipe made alot of frosting but it was really tasty so use generously.

Italian Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
I thought this came out a little bland, but was overall good. Bread crumb mixture stuck great. I served with spaghetti and covered the chicken with spaghetti sauce and sprinkled with extra Romano cheese. Reheated well the next night too. Will make again, but will try adding salt, Italian seasoning, or extra Romano cheese to bread crumb mixture.

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
I followed the recipe and added 1 can diced tomatoes and 1 can diced green chilis. I didn't drain any of the canned foods before adding to the pot. Mine cooked in half the time (I have a large crock pot). Consistency was great! My husband and I loved this. Made one night with homemade tortillas and the following night with fresh cornbread muffins. Soooo Gooood!! Makes alot, and very filling.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
I followed the directions and added 1 tsp. liquid smoke as recommended by another reviewer. I also used Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce. I thought the sauce was too sweet. Next time I will skip the brown sugar or use a BBQ sauce that's not as sweet. The consistency came out great. I put the chicken on French rolls and made sandwiches with the meat. Great recipe to have for BBQ's for those who don't eat pork or beef.
