Stuffing Salisbury Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Hubby lovers this, can substitute as meatloaf, works really well and tasty. Also added a little beef gray to the meat mixture to give a nice beefy flavor.

Kielbasa and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
I had to make some changes to original recipe since as is the dish is soupy, it seems to be missing something and the potatoes aren't done. Instead of creamed soup I added cream corn and added 2 Tbsp flour, I also added 1/4 cup diced onions as others had mentioned and parboiled the potatoes. Then for last 5-10 minutes of baking topped with grated cheddar. Much better flavor and I will make it again.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Have used this recipe many times. I use lo-fat cream cheese and extra garlic powder and Parmesan. My husband does not like cream cheese, but he loves this Alfreda sauce. The sauce is creamy and very flavorful. I use it in my chicken alfredo all the time.

Potato and Cheese Pierogi

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
The first time I made these they were OK, but a bit bland. The second time I lightly sauteed some fresh onions and added that to the mashed potatoes along with some shredded cheddar. After I boiled them and let them cool slightly I sauteed them in garlic butter. Much better and alot more flavor. I will definately make these again. My husband's family is pure Polish and they liked them. Being an outsider I am happy when they are pleased with my cooking.

This recipe has been handed down and I must say I haven't changed a thing. It is delicious just the way it is.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
I was quite surprised at how little this recipe made but the flavor was wonderful. I added some more broccoli to give it a more chunky effect.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
This is an awesome beer bread and really simple to make. I added 1/3 cup sugar and 1/2 cup ground flax seed, then poured melted butter over top before baking. It was sooo yummy and really easy to slice. I was even able to toast it the next day. When you put in in a plastic bag it softens the hard crust.

Crab Stuffed Flounder

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
I made a couple of changes, left out the mustard and worshestershire sauce and split the meat 1/2 cup crab with 1/2 cup shredded shrimp, but over all it was OK. The stuffing was delish but the flounder got soggy and had almost no flavor left. I will try again.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
I did not use shortening, substituted canola oil. They came out great. They were a big hit at Christmas, I gave them out as gifts. My husband is not a big peanut butter fan but he likes oatmeal and he loves these cookies. Thanks for a great recipe.

Sausage Gravy I

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2006
I fried up 6 slices of bacon to get my bacon grease. After I had all contents in frying pan and was stirring, I took the cooked bacon slices threw them in the blender and chopped to bacon bits then added it to the gravy. Made this for men's breakfast at church. It was such a hit it was requested for next breakfast.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2006
Great way to use up your zucchini. My youngest daughter does not like zucchini but she loved these. Found that I had to add a little more bread crumbs as consistancy is a little runny.

Snickerdoodle Cake I

Followed this recipe exactly, it tasted great but looked terrible. I had a hard time getting it out of the pan and the cinnamon sugar topping sunk to the bottom. Good taste but needs help on appearance.

Apple Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
Easy to make and deliciously moist. I used apple pie filling instead and it came out beautifully. I used round cake pans I think I might try a 1/4 sheet cake pan next time instead of 2 round pans
