Anisette Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
I am sorry to say but this recipe is lacking. I am upset because I couldn't find my other one in time for Thanksgiving. Sure enough I found it after I made these. My kids said they tasted like Play Doh and I don't disagree. The other recipe I have uses less flour, less eggs and incorporates butter, uses more extract, etc. they are much better. I added another tspn. of extract to try to save the batch. It heloed - a little.

Roasted Red Bell Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
I have been having great fun with this recipe and my family (including 2 year old triplets) doesn't mind at all - they love it! The first time I made it I used a 16oz can of roasted peppers. I added some things I had in the house like a half empty bag of three cheese tortellini and a bunch of fresh asparagus spears (it looked very pretty). The second time I roasted my own peppers and it was really good but everyone commented that the difference between the fresh and the canned was so subtle I can get away with not soing the extra work. This time I only added fresh mini ravioli. My sisters commented that it didn't really need any additions and I agree. I am making it tonight for a church dinner and I will leave it plain, but I will bring along some crumbled Feta - that sounds so good! Thanks for a healthy, delicious and versatile recipe!

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
This recipe came out really yummy with a little tweeking. I used brown sugar instead of white and I added 1/2 tbsp. cinnamon. I ommitted the vanilla because I ran out of it. I sprinkled the tops with brown sugar and cinnamon. I also baked at 350 for 25 minutes. The came out perfectly. They were moist and delicious. My two year old triplets loved them and kept yelling "MORE!"

Cherry Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
This recipe was my first t ime making muffins from scratch. I used dried tart cherries instead of the canned - I think this helped with the problem other had with them not cooking well. They cooked up fine and were quite good. My only recommendation would be to cut back on the sugar a bit - they are a little too sweet. Otherwise it was a nice and easy recipe.

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2006
This recipes is great! It is simple and very versatile. I tried it with devil's food cake over the holidays and they were a huge hit - especially with the kids. Tonight I am going to try addin mini dark chocolate chips and dried tart cherries to the devil's food mix. I can't wait to try them!
