Mexican Cookie Rings

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
My kids loved these! My daughter asked me to make them for her fiesta at school and it got great reviews. I used colorful nonpareils and they looked so pretty. Thanks for the recipe!

I loved this recipe! My whole family enjoyed it, even my husband who doesn't really care for salmon. Thanks so much for this great recipe!

Pan Dulces

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2005
If the stampede back to the baking pan for seconds was any indication that these were delicious, I would say Pan Dulces rated all five stars...thanks for the great recipe!

Cheese Straws

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2005
We had never had cheese straws before so we chose this recipe to see what they would taste like. None of my family cared for them...maybe it is an acquired taste. We did have fun making them though. Thanks anyway for the recipe!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2005
This was delicious and qualifies as a "make ahead meal" where it needs to sit overnight and takes so long to bake. I made it on one of my busy nights and came home to a delicious chicken dinner. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Veggie Lo Mein

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2005
This rates four stars because I loved it and the rest of my family didn't. I will make it again though. I think I would add a little ginger for additional flavor and add a lot more vegetables, which I found to be the best part. Thanks for the recipe!

Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2005
Very good. I thought they would be mocha in flavor with the added coffee. I would make these again, although I might try omitting the instant coffee next time. To my taste, the coffee didn't really add anything except to take away from the overall chocolate taste, and the chocolate taste is WONDERFUL! Thanks for the recipe!

Italian-Style Spaghetti Squash

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2006
My family enjoyed this very pretty dish. The only thing I would do differently next time is omit the lemon. Thanks for the recipe!

Beef Yakitori

My family enjoyed this recipe. Next time I will cut back on the soy sauce to cut down on the salt, but otherwise a good recipe. Thanks!

Zucchini Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2006
This was a good recipe although I did use the fat free half and half instead of milk and I used low fat cream cheese. I will make again...thanks for the recipe.

Gelatin-Flavored Popcorn

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2006
My kids really enjoyed this recipe, especially since they were able to choose their favorite flavor of jello! I did cut the amount of butter in half and it worked fine. Next time I am going to try to cut back a little on the sugar as well (I found it to be really sweet, although my kids did not complain about this...what a surprise!). We plan to make two batches at Christmas - one flavored strawberry and the other lime, and mix them together. I'm sure the red and green popcorn will be a hit at Christmas parties! Thanks for the recipe!

Garden Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2006
My family enjoyed this recipe. I used both red and yellow tomatoes, cut down on the cilantro (not my personal favorite), added chopped fresh garlic and increased the amount of tomatoes and lime juice. Thanks for sumbitting this recipe! It is a great way to use up all those extra garden tomatoes!

Neapolitan Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
This was a fun cake to make with my son. We used strawberry syrup as a substitution and it worked fine. The syrups don't seem to change the taste of the cake much but they do make for a surprising presentation. My son was so proud to show his father and sisters the "tie-dye" cake he made. Thanks for the recipe!

Best Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2006
This was just an "okay" recipe. I have made other buttercream frostings that were just as good (if not better) and were less work. I probably wouldn't make again.

Cold Day Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
This recipe worked very well for me as a base for delicious chili. I improvised according to my family's tastes by adding chopped garlic, chopped bell pepper and cumin. I substituted a 16 oz bottle of salsa instead of the can of diced tomatos (I didn't have any on hand). I also substituted ground chicken instead of hamburg to cut down on the fat. My whole family really enjoyed this chili. Thanks for the recipe!
