Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
This was okay, but nothing special. There is a French Dip recipe on this site that I prefer that is more flavorful.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2013
Excellent soup! I used stew meat (boiled until tender) instead of hamburger & I thickened mine w/ cornstarch & a little water. Also, I used beef broth, since that is what I had & just slightly less than 2 cups of cheese for our preference, & a little cayenne pepper. The sour cream was a nice touch. We loved it!!!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew by Spice Islands®

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
5+ stars! Every one loved this. I used 2 lbs of stew meat, 3 tablespoons ketchup (could use more) instead of canned tomatoes (kids won't eat them) & a can of beef broth since I didn't have the wine. I didn't add any sugar or rosemary. I will definitely make this again.

Slow Cooker Enchiladas

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
Everyone liked it, but it was way too salty for us, and I even used low sodium soups & taco seasoning.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
So tender & yummy! I would never have thought making ribs could be so easy! I was a little skeptical but I decided to try it because of all the positive reviews. I forgot to marinate so I put a bunch of cuts in the ribs and then lathered on the sauce and they still turned out great. Next time I'm going to try the dry rub thing. Everyone loved these. Thanks for sharing!

Baked Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
Good base recipe. I changed it up just to make it extra special for Easter dinner today (it would have been great as is) & it was wonderful! I used a smoked butt portion with 7Up as suggested by others. I basted a few times & drizzled pure maple syrup for the last 20 mins. It was so-o-o good my 12 year old couldn't stop eating it & he is very picky. Thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
This is the best pulled pork recipe! I use this recipe all the time and everyone loves it. I don't add the oil as it doesn't seem to need it. There is a lot of liquid in the end which I usually discard most of and add more bbq sauce. This one always comes out nice and moist. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Baba Ghanoush

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
This was a pretty good recipe. I had to make the tahini homemade which was a pain, but it turned out well. When I tried the baba ghanoush right after it was done, the lemon flavor was overwhelming so I added tomato paste. After waiting three hours like the recipe calls for, the eggplant absorbed some of that flavor and it was a hit. Next time I would add a little less lemon juice and put more tomato paste in it.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
My husband liked them but I thought they just okay because they were too spicy-hot for my liking & I didn't even use the hot sauce. Also, I think an egg would have helped made them more moiste. Thanks anyways.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
Excellent! Followed recipe exactly, but I did take others advice & I froze the pb cups a few mins before pushing them into the cookie & I also after they were done to prevent melting. I took some to work & everyone really liked these. Thanks!!!

Hamburger Hash Browns

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2012
Yay!! Pretty good & not difficult & not one complaint from any one! I baked the hash browns for 30-40 mins on 400 degrees to make them a little more crisp as others suggested. I added chopped onions to the hamburger while browning & added some red pepper flakes to the mixture to pep it up a little, & omitted the mixed veggies. Also, I topped with Swiss cheese since my family prefers that more than Cheddar. Next time, I will have to double the recipe so there's enough for everyone. I'll add this one to my monthly rotation. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2012
Sorry but I'm one of the few who didn't care for this. There was too much crust & not enough spices for my liking. Even though I added pepper, cayenne pepper, & also some parsley, it still was bland. My 11 year old son ate it & my husband said it was good, but I think he was just trying to be nice. My older son wasn't interested in it at all. I think I'll stick to chicken & dumplings or chicken & biscuits, but thanks for sharing.

Mock Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
These really are a lot like chicken fried steak. Even my picky 16 year old son gave it a thumbs up. I didn't have the crackers so I kind of did what Lavonda did. I made my patties & then dipped them in some floor that had all the spices in it, including some garlic, seasoned salt, & pepper, then dipped them in eggs, & in the flour again, and then fried. I made some gravy with some of the grease, flour, & milk & water and I also made mashed potatoes. I will definitely use this recipe again. Thanks for sharing.

Kristen's Bacon Ranch Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
This was the first time I ever made potato salad & this came out very good, but I gave 4 stars because the amount of bacon, cheese, & green onions seemed to be too much to suit our taste. I used 5-6 slices of bacon (which was enough), about 1 cup cheese, & 2 green onions and it was perfect for us. I will make again but next time I will add hard boiled eggs. Thanks for sharing.

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
The recipe as is gets 3 stars because it seemed too sweet & messy flipping on the platter. I will try again though using a 3 oz package of jello.

GrannyLin's Barbeque Ribs Made Easy

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
This was my 1st time making ribs so I was a little worried but they turned out good & tender! Water is not needed to cooked these because the ribs will produce enough liquid. My slow cooker doesn't have medium so after broiling, I cooked them on high 1 hour & low for 4 hours. (Low on my crock-pot is more like a medium setting.) I basted w/ some of the barbeque sauce 3 hours in & after 2 more hours I put more sauce on & broiled a 2nd time. (Make sure to use a good sauce!) These were wonderful!

K-Dub's Alfredo Ravioli Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
So YUMMY! I was really lazy & used chicken breast meat from a can. Everyone loved it! I would like to come up with a little lighter version of this, calorie wise, so I don't feel so BAD the next time I make it!

Oregano-Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
I loved this! I accidentally got a bag of frozen chicken legs instead of breast & I don't even like chicken legs, & it turned out good. Here's what I did: since my chicken was frozen & I don't like turning on the oven in the summer, I cooked them in a pressure cooker w/ water & some lemon juice for about 20 mins. When it was done, I poured out the water & I drizzled the mixture on top. Awesome!!! I will make this many, many times. Thanks for sharing!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2012
Delish & tender! My 16 year old son said he prefers fried pork chops so this is definitely more of an adult meal but I will make again when wanting something a little different. I used 8 pork chops, the whole can of chicken broth & also through in some dried onion flakes along w/ the other ingredients. Also, I just used a couple tablespoons of olive oil & cooked on low for 7 hours. I thickened the sauce & turned it into a gravy w/ some mashed potatoes. The spices were perfect! Thanks for sharing.

Awesome!!! The only thing I did different was to sprinkle some Old Bay seasoning on top. Next time I'm going to add some sliced green peppers & onions. So easy & delish!!!!
