About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Naughty food- food that I don't permit myself to make- cheesecakes ( hell, who am I kidding? any kind of cake) Thanksgiving dinner-like food, seafood. I like the challenge of creating food that will keep me skinny but has some flavor.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents like to cook this rediculously rich meal for Christmas Eve. We never did anything with Christmas Eve. It started out with my Mom asking my brother and I if we could have anything what would it be. It turned into a day of prime rib, crab, cheesecake, and everything else fattening.
My cooking triumphs
I can make a soup out of anything...saves my hungry asss all the time.
My cooking tragedies
ever forget to put eggs in brownies? it's not all that

The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie
Amazing!! One of my favorite pies ever! I've made 6 this week for friends. The thing I like to do differently is cook the strawberries and filling in a pan with a little orange juice. I have an easier time with making it the perfect consistency that way. Love it! Thank you for sharing it!!

Cajun Sweet Dough
For most of my life I disliked pie crust. Dry, somewhat tasteless...a sad ending to a piece of pie. Then I tried Julie's recipe. It's amazing!! I use it for anything pie, anything turnover. You can't go wrong! Everyone is wowed by it..even my Mom who was happy with her crust. It's little like sugar cookies. Thank you for sharing it! :D

Chicken Lo Mein
This is so easy and turns out so well. It's also a good introduction to ingredients commonly found in Chinese cooking. I've added more water before to turn it into more of a soup. Either way you'll probably fall in love with it. Thank you for sharing it!
