I am the proud Mom of 2 teenage sons who both started cooking with me when they were about 8 years old. I own a small nursery (plant...not babies!) and have a wonderful line of spa (bath) products that I make and ship all over the country. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info and include your mailing address for a brochure.
I have been fundraising for schools for more than 35 years and have gotten pretty good at it. I am now the chairman for the all night graduation party for the class of 2010 at Nathan Hale high school in Seattle. We will keep about 200 kids from drinking and driving on their graduation night. The parties are a blast!
THE BULBS ARE HERE!!!!! I have 1000's of spring bulbs I get from a major grower north of here each year and use all of the money raised to help pay for the high school graduation party. I can ship all over the country. take cash, check and payPal. Email me at email@example.com with "bulbs" in the subject line.
My favorite things to cook
I love to experiment! Adore Thai, Japanese, Italian and, thanks to a dear friend in New Orleans, learning some creole. Quiche is my favorite quick "clean out the refrigerator" meal...for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I make a killer lasagne that takes 3 hours to prepare and has a red and white sauce. It is the most requested for special occasion dinners. I LOVE to make appetizers! I have quite the collection of recipes and love to watch them disappear at events. Don't like to make desserts (unless for a bake sale) because I fear people will be too full from all of the other food to eat them. I do treat my family to some nice desserts throughout the year though and they are always surprised and gobble it up.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner....the whole thing! Now that my husband's son has married I am afraid my dear new daughter-in-law will want to cook it. I know she will want my help and I will enjoy doing it with her. For Christmas Day, I always make an overnight breakfast of some sort, an assortment of appetizers and stock up on good meats, cheeses and breads. We have a big buffet for all who come at whatever time and I cook nothing. Thank you, Mom, for starting that tradition!
My cooking triumphs
Too many to note. :)
My cooking tragedies
I am sure there have been some but, they certainly weren't that memorable. Good thing!
