About this Cook
I'm a 28-year old teacher, a dog and cat mom, and a home owner. I discovered my love of cooking in 2005 (after never making anything but Campbell's soup and toast) and haven't looked back since!
My favorite things to cook
Anything with chicken, cheese, and garlic! I also love making desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom makes a great traditional meatloaf & mashed potatoes... and we eat nachos on Christmas Eve.
My cooking triumphs
Getting through that stage where I'm constantly worried that I'm going to ruin dinner... and learning from the not-so-good meals instead of getting upset over them!
My cooking tragedies
I can't make Rice Krispie Treats.

Yellow Squash Casserole
Made as written, except added 1/2 tsp. garlic powder. I was skeptical, never having eaten squash in my entire life. It was very good!!

Hummus Pizza
Add mined garlic and sliced/chopped onion. Use red, green, and yellow peppers. Will add sliced green onions next time!

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas
Microwave tortillas in damp paper towels rather than putting them in the oven. Up cream cheese to 5 oz. Add 1 regular-size can corn to bean mixture. Omit jalapeno peppers. These were sooooo good!
