Pasta With Tuna Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
Excellent combination of flavors. I used less pasta and more capers and lemons based on the other reviews. I also used whole wheat penne pasta. I really enjoyed it and will definitely make it again. Thanks for the recipe!

Swiss Chard and Pecan Pesto

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Very explosive flavor - I added an additional clove of garlic and used pecorino romano cheese and used some of the pasta water to mix it with the pasta. I also sauteed the stems of the swiss chard first until they were softened before adding the leaves. I like their bitter flavor. It was aboslutely outstanding. Thanks for the recipe!

Old Time Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
Just like my mom used to make!!! I did steam the broccoli instead of boiling it and removed the sherry but was still great. Thanks for the recipe!

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
I baked it exactly as instructed with no changes, and my entire family loved it. The glaze over top with the pecans was a perfect touch. Next time I may mix some chopped pecans into the batter itself to add something more. Thanks for the recipe!

Double Nut Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
Delicious! I made a small change - instead of rolling the balls in the almonds, I added sliced almonds to the batter itself. Everyone loved it. Thanks for the recipe!

Excellent recipe. I added a little more garlic and also sprinkled some crushed red pepper for a little kick. It came out so moist and delicious. We really enjoyed it and it will defintely become part of the dinner rotation!! Thanks!

Coconut Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
Wow! I used plain greek yogurt and added some cayenne pepper to the coconut pecan breading mixture for a kick. We LOVED this chicken. I do think the heat was a bit high for the first portion of the cooking time so next time I make it I'll probably start it at 400 and reduce to 350 and if the coating is not crispy enough, I'll broil it at the end. Thanks for the recipe!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
I make these for functions all the time, and they are always the first thing eaten. I usually make them ahead of time and cover them and leave them in the fridge before baking them. The sugar really sinks into the bacon instead of sliding off into a sauce. It also makes the cleanup a little easier. I also line them up on a pan lined with alumimum foil instead of attaching them to a skewer. Yum.

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Great flavor. I didn't have a chance to let it marinate in the fridge before trying it, but we'll have the remainder tomorrow for lunch, and I have a feeling the flavors will be even stronger. We added reduced fat feta cheese and served it on a whole grain wrap with baby spinach. Delicious.

Turkey Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
I changed the recipe a bit based on what I had in the kitchen, but what a great quick dinner option. I didn't have bbq sauce, so I added additional ketchup and instead of celery seed, I chopped up fresh celery. I also added extra onion and used 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar. I also added garlic powder and about a tablespoon of tobasco sauce. I served them on arnold's sandwich thins with reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese. Thanks for the recipe - this will definitely go in my rotation! :)

Cornflake Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
Good - a little dry, but reminded me a bit of a tiny scone. A good cookie to go with tea or coffee. I recommend making them very small. They weren't sweet at all, so while they were cooling I sprinkled powdered sugar over the top which helped. I will make them again. Thanks for the recipe! Update: I used the base cookie recipe but instead of raisins, added dried pineapples, and then instead of cornflakes, I rolled them in shredded coconut. Delicious. Also tried rolling them in walnut pieces and added extra raisins to the batter. Also very delicious. So thanks for the base cookie recipe.

Apple Pan Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
I think we would have liked this recipe better without jalapeno (which completely overpowered all of the other flavors) and less thyme. I only tasted those two flavors. I doubt I'll try it again.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
I don't understand the hype about this one. It was ok, but the sauce it created was watery, and I let it simmer for longer than even the recipe suggests. I won't make this again.
