Pumpkin Muffins II

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I love these muffins! I used, instead, 1 cup of white sugar and a half cup of brown sugar and replaced a small bit of the oil with applesauce. Sprinkled a tiny bit of raw sugar over the tops, as well. Wow! Five stars for sure. And I think you could safely decrease the sugar a bit more.

Fudge

Fantastic and easy recipe! Delicious! But do not deviate from chocolate chips - I once made with "chocolate chunks" and the recipe did not work out. Assuming that the amount could be altered and the chunks would work, however.

good recipes to work with, but the molasses was overpowering (and I love molasses). I will try again and halve the molasses.

Pumpkin Pie Squares

Great tasting recipe. I definitely suggest doubling the base (don't need all the sugar, though) and adjusting the spices up a tiny bit.

Fresh Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
These are excellent cookies! Very easy to make and a nice taste and texture. Leave them out overnight to get crispy on the outside. And I made them into disks (not balls) and only dipped the top half in the sugar before baking. Next time I make them I will try less butter - I suspect that they will be just as good with less better.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

This crust is excellent. Roll it out between wax sheets and it works every time. I also add a 1 1/2 tsp. sugar for a little added flavor when making sweet pies.

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
Yup - a little less white sugar - little more cocoa powder and this is perfect! And I added the milk as I went so as not over do it since I'd changed the other ingredients. Thick, chocolately and fudgey - very tasty.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
Excellent! I had one lemon so re-set the recipe for two servings. I whipped it up chilled it in the freezer - added ice and drank it. Took five minutes and I don't even have a juicer - I used my hands! Delicious. Though I would recommend using a juicer for larger quantities!

Excellent! I just used plain Crisco (not butter-flavored) - tasted fine. Crunchy on the outside - chewy in the middle. Perfect.

Apple Honey Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
Really good cake. Easy to make and delicious. I substituted 1/4 c. of the oil for applesauce. I probably could have cut the sugar down a little bit, too. Next time I will try a little less sugar and add a bit of fresh nutmeg.

Excellent! I added a sprinkle of clove and and extra half teaspoon of cinnamon. And took the suggestion to let it cool in the over (with the door open) - pie looks beautiful.

First time making eggnog. Not too tricky and the taste was very nice. Great reviews form guests who repeated many times "and I don't even like eggnog - but this is really good".

Peppermint Meringues

The taste was ok - made better by the crushed candy cane ... but the texture really was like styrofoam. I didn't believe the other reviewers before I made them. But they look nice and very easy to make - so good for a party.

Jordan Marsh Style Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
I used half butter and half shortening. Cut the sugar down to about 2/3 cup. Of the 2/3 cup sugar - used a bit less than half brown sugar. These came out perfectly! (Better than any other I've tried - even the Strusel Top) Delicious - crunchy on top and moist in the middle. Just enough sweetness. This has just become my regular blueberry muffin recipe.
