SC Frogmore Stew

WOW!!! Was this ever good!! So delish, and so much fun for a hot summer night...4 of us devoured all but a bowlful, which my son picked at later that night, and my husband finished the next day. Can't wait to make it again with our fresh summer corn, and I can't wait to make it for company! Yummm!!!

Pie Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm good! Sooooo good and sooooo moist! What a wonderful cake! I made it as written, with the Cherry Pie filling and I can't wait to try it with Apple and Peach pie filling. It could also be served as a coffee cake rather than a dessert. Thank you for this fantastic recipe!

Coq au Vin alla Italiana

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
Made this for dinner tonight, and it was just OK. I was dissapointed as it smelled AMAZING while cooking. If I ever make this again, I will make sure the remove the skin from the chicken thighs, as it made the "sauce" very greasy. We kind of strained the veggies, chicken and sausage from the sauce. I made this as written, minus the rosemary, as we don't care for it. As I said it was just OK...sorry!

Chicken and Mushroom Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
Yum! This was very good...my husband loved it. (I made it with rice milk, as my daughter is allergic to dairy.) It's a very thick, hearty and comforting chowder for a yucky cold winter day! Thank you!

Tomato Broccoli Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
We loved this! (My 11 yr. old daughter made it for us, she LOVES broccoli) I thought it was going to be very dry, but I was mistaken. Baking it with the lid on really held in the moisture. We omitted the cheese, as my daughter is allergic to dairy. The rest of us just added it to our servings. Thanks for a delicious different way to eat broccoli!

Wasabi Secret Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
I loved this salad! I used Boston lettuce, and I chose not to add the sesame seeds. I loved the combination of the sweet dried cherries with the "punch" of the wasabi peas! Thank you for this recipes, which I will be making again many times!

Just made this for dinner and YUM! Really great flavor...like take out. Served this over brown rice, and the 4 of us gobbled it up! My husband's comment was, "Well, that was a nice snack!" Hey, we're pigs! :o) Will make this again for sure!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! We loved these! Full of flavor...messy to eat, but who cares? Hubby said, "You can make these again!" Our kids loved them too! Thanks for a delicious addition to my recipe box!

Banana Pancake Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
Love these! (I made them with Rice milk rather than Soy milk because I think Soy milk tastes funny when heated.) My daughter, who has a dairy allergy, really enjoyed these right out of the oven with a little dairy free margarine. Thanks for this great recipe!

Greek Pasta with Tomatoes and White Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
LOVED THIS! It is such a nice change from the usual sauce drenched pasta. It also has great eye appeal, with the red tomatoes, green spinach, and white beans, pasta and cheese. I used 1 lb. of mini penne pasta, and the 4 of us devoured it! It might be a bit bland for some folks, but we loved it as is. The Italian tomatoes I bought had garlic in them so that made it more flavorful. This is a nice light, yet filling dish. My family gave it thumbs up, so I will be making this again for sure!

Dave's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
LOVED this! Took it to a BBQ, and topped it on pulled pork sandwich...delicious! (Actually, I had a hard time stopping myself from snarfing the whole huge bowl before we left for the picnic!) It does make a LOT of dressing, so make sure you serve it with a slotted spoon!

Dick and Red's Bacon Clam Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
I have no idea what happened to this recipe as I prepared it. I followed the directions to a T, and it was YUCK. I added more hot sauce, and cayenne, Old Bay, paprika, garlic salt and it was better. Unfortunatly the only thing that really liked it at the picnic, were the yellow jackets! It was a waste of good, costly ingredients.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this recipe! I've made this many times and the only thing I've done differently is that I make it with soy milk or rice milk as my daughter is allergic to dairy. It's delicious every time! I can only imagine how wonderful it would be with cows milk!

Amy's Barbecue Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
This salad is amazing...I crave it! The only thing I leave out is the cilanto as we don't care for it. My husband said this was restaurant food! The dressing is sooo good, it sounds strange but don't let it fool you. Use a good quality Ranch and a good BBQ sauce. I'm all for generics, but in this case, I think brand name makes a difference.
