About this Cook
I'm Jill. I really enjoy cooking. Allrecipes has become a hobby of mine. I usually stay on the safe side and pick a popular recipe so it's sure to turn out well. I come from a big family that enjoys to cook and LOVES to eat. As a child I had many summers visiting my grandparents in Corpus Christie,Tx. They always had a vegetable garden and could cook the best catfish. My parents also make delicious food. My mom is the baker(her carrot cake is Devine) and my dad makes hands-down the best Chili!
My favorite things to cook
I like to make easy dinners since I have a toddler (7.7.07 baby). Such as Stuffed Peppers, casseroles (HOT chicken salad!), pasta salads, and dessert. The crock pot has become a regular in my kitchen. I love teriyaki chicken so I pulled out one of my moms old cookbooks at the age of 13 and learned to make it. Still one of my favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year on Christmas Eve we make appetizers and cookies together. It is so fun. My favorite is baked brie with pecans and sesame crackers. Then we watch a movie and read the Christmas Story.
My cooking triumphs
I co-hosted a Christmas party in 2008. I made peanut butter balls, cake balls, cheese wontons, and chicken wings. I had a guest tell me she tried all the food I made and couldn't find a thing wrong with any of it! I was so happy that everything turned out great.
My cooking tragedies
Most of the time I cook pretty well. When I was younger I used to burn stuff a lot! It would really annoy my mom. They always knew I had been cooking if they found a scorched pan in the backyard.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
this is a great chocolate chip cookie recipe! They turn out a little caramelized on the bottom & soft in the middle.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles
I've made this recipe twice. My cookies always spread out real thin, nothing like the picture.
