About this Cook
I'm a 21 year old house mom with a passion for baking. I'm my happiest covered in flour, watching someone try one of my creations... My only problem is letting them chew and swallow before asking "what do you think?"... I can't WAIT til my son's old enough to start eating solids. (He's 2 months old and breastfed.)
My favorite things to cook
Chocolate cake of all types, cheesecakes, apple, blueberry, and peach pie, cookies,(all save chocolate chip, which never turn out well). Pot roast and soups... the list goes on and on....
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a noodle recipe thats past down to one woman out of every generation. I'm the sixth generation to get it,(it bypassed my grandma as she's an only child and a horrible cook) I learned it from my mother, and I make it every thanksgiving (another tradition.)
My cooking triumphs
My banana bread recipe, or should I say non-recipe. I've gotten so good at making it that I can do it completly on the fly, without even using a single measurment.
My cooking tragedies
My failure to ever succesfully make a batch of chocolate chip cookies... I just can't do it.

Grandma's Gingersnaps
five star all the way. I took the advice of some of the previouse posters and added cardimum and extra ginger. I also added nutmeg and about 1/4 cup extra flour, baked them for about 10-11 minutes, and covered them with a thin glaze and let them set before serving. They go GREAT with tea.

Triple the Ginger Cookies
These cookies have a really nice bite to them, and I LOVED them. The only thing I did differently was sprinkle coarse unrefined sugar over the top for a bit a "sparkle". Aside from that, wouldn't change a thing.

Cinnamon Sugar Cookies
These cookies came out fantastic. I only changed one little thing, I dipped one side of the cookie in the cinnamon sugar instead of rolling the logs in it... Even with a double recipe there were none left over to store!! These cookies definatly go into my recipe box (to be made over and over!!).
