About this Cook
Overall, I want to bring back the desire for good quality, homemade, (mostly) healthy food into the hearts and kitchens of families so that the next generation will be less box-reliant than mine. I firmly believe that any “homemade” food, even when labelled as "naughty", is a more wholesome treat than pre-packaged, cookie-cutter junk. With the knowledge of good food (and how to cook good food) as a base, a healthy lifestyle can follow, and then anything is possible! Today, my love for teaching and food has taken me down the path of becoming a Montessori Casa and Home Economics teacher. Asian-inspired, soups, breads (especially sourdough), cookies, muffins, jams/preserves and food gifts!

Summer: preserves, jams and sauces for canning Autumn: apple pie and crisps Christmas: shortbread cookies, filled brioche and Challah
My cooking triumphs
I once made a chocolate souffle that stayed up! My sourdough boules are fantastic and I make a mean tofu-based (!) chocolate chip cookie that rival's mom's!
My cooking tragedies
Making a dark brown bread that used lots of food colouring and turned out green cause I forgot to add the red. My own 20th birthday cake never baked - it turned into a pan of grey sludge that I had to scrape into the sink.

Easy Broccoli Salad
I loved this, but only found I needed 1 tbsp of oil. 1/3 cup is far too much

Black Bean Brownies
These were okay as written (more like cake though), but our family liked them way better with 1 less egg, 1/3 cup cocoa and 1/2 cup dark brown sugar. More "brownie like" that way. The coffee is a great addition!
