About this Cook
Love to cook. Love to eat. Love to run so I can eat!!
My favorite things to cook
Bourbon Glazed BBQ ribs. World Famous Cinnamon Roles (OK I made them for French friends living in England and they loved them). Chili and Cheese stuffed Tenderloin. Chicken Etouffe. Tom Kai Gai.....any new and exciting recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mother's parents came to the US from Germany met here and started a German Restaurant. I don't cook the traditional often alone but enjoy cooking with the master....My mother. She is an expert at cooking the family traditions. Sauer Braten Klops Spetzle Potato Dumplings (to die for) Rouladen. Potato Pancakes (again to die for) Kastler...etc etc.
My cooking triumphs
My wife and I hosted a Chinese Murder Mystery for my parents and friends. Made an awesome 5 course chinese meal. Another triumph was not necessarily a great cooking triumph however it was amazing that I made this meal. The meal was chicken enchiladas suiza for my sister and friends at her college dorm. The triumph was making it through the blizzard that closed the Hwy in MN where I was traveling. Spent the first night at the Mayo clinic avoiding the security with help of a person with schizophrenia. Next day got my car out of the snowbank and still was able to finish the meal even though the dorm oven didn't heat to temp. That was a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
A Chinese meal where I ruined the countertops of my friend's apartment. The carmelized dessert got on the countertops and ruined the cheep finish. Okay we had to take a chisel to it and that took of the the finish off the countertop.

JG's Irish Lamb Stew
Great recipe. I also used beef (and left out rutabaga) for the kids....can't wait to try it with the Lamb.
