Fresh Strawberry-Oatmeal Cookies
About this Cook
I absolutely love to cook - especially baking cookies and cakes. I'm a firm believer that fresh ingredients make the recipe -- from herbs to fruits and veggies, I always buy fresh and make from scratch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Beef tenderloin on Christmas eve with Mom's special butter-and-soy sauce
My cooking triumphs
My very best work, I think, was a birthday cake for my then boyfriend's (now husband!) 25th birthday. He works in construction, so I used peanut butter frosting for the "dirt" and chocolate for the "roads" - I decorated it with mini construction trucks and grahm crackers - it was adorable and he LOVED it.
My cooking tragedies
A layered chocolate and raspberry cake that my mother and I made when I was younger. It took us HOURS and looked beautiful -- until the whole thing fell into the middle. We wound up eating it out of a bowl... with spoons.

Cream of Chicken Soup From Scratch
@erimess - the directions clearly state that you are to make a slurry with the flour and remainder of COLD milk. I think you didn't follow the recipe correctly, and because of that your review is extremely unfair and inaccurate. I followed the directions except I halved he recipe (only needed one can of soup) - it turned out great and I was very pleased with the results. Thank you for providing this excellent base and substitute for the canned stuff!!

No Bake Cookies VII
Quick, easy, and pretty darn good! These aren't supposed to be some sort of gormet cookie - they're no bakes! Just drop them by small spoonfull onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet, then dredge in powdered sugar. After they are sugared, they are VERY easy to shape into balls. An hour or so in the fridge and you're good to go! Thanks for this one!

Chicken Milano
Pretty good. There was barely enough sauce for all four of us, so I would recommend doubling the sauce, at least. I also used a little cornstarch in water to thicken it up a bit. Not bad.
