Authentic French Meringues

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
There are two types of meringue; soft and hard. The difference between the two is the amount of sugar added to the egg whites. Soft meringue is made with only a small amount of sugar and is used as a topping for pies and cakes. The more sugar in the recipe the crisper the cookie will be. If you cut too far back on the sugar the cookies will be more like marshmallows. Hope this helps clear up the sugar debate.

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
Thank you so much for this recipe. It was so easy and delicious. I got rave reviews and the were gone in minutes. The only change I make when making them was to dip the tops in bread crumbs after I stuffed them. This way they had a nice looking crust on the top.

Russian Tea Cakes II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
I think the problem is that these cookies typically don't have eggs in them. It causes the dough to spread out. I'll try a more traditional recipe.

Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
These were perfect. They came out great using a cookie press, the dough was easy to work with. I didn't have orange zest so I used some almond extract instead. Lovely cookies. I also tried one of the top rated recipes that did not have cream cheese and it was dry and hard to work with. These were much better. Thanks.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2006
I followed recipe exactly. It was perfect. I was able to easily drizzle it. For the people that said it was too thick - I think 2 more minutes in the double boiler will make the perfect consistency.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2013
I just didn't love this recipe. The pork was moist and had a nice consistency but the sauce was just canned cream of mushroom soup. It was OK but I wouldn't make it again.

Hasselback Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2013
This was a lot of work for something that tasted exactly like oven roasted potatoes. My potatoes were kind of large so they took forever to cook. I wouldn't take the time to make this again.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
EDIT: I forgot to buy mushrooms and had to use what I had in the cupboard - All I had was artichoke hearts and let me tell you they were fantastic in this quiche. I'll never use mushrooms again. nom nom nom If only there were a better word than yum... Everyone loved this quiche, the herbed feta added a great flavor. I followed the recipe exactly and it fit into a deep dish shell perfectly. Thank you so much for this one!!!
