Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
Family really liked it. Used 1 can reduced fat buttermilk biscuits, used seasalt, low sodium chix soup, 2 cups chix bouillon (would add a little more so sauce not too thick). Will definitely make this true comfort food again.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Used the slow cooker for 4plus hours (3 on high, the rest on low) - had karo cornsyrup with brown sugar and added a bit more brown sugar to it, used a third of the cloves, cooked with baby carrots, basted often and the meat fell apart. It was scruptious! Will make again.

Scallops Mascarpone

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
Made to recipe and it came out terrific. Added an extra bunch of asparagus, made two boxes of pasta and added just the right amount to recipe (w/plain pasta leftover for the kids-they're not old enough to appreciate a good scallop!). Stood and watched scallops cook-nothing worse than them being overcooked. Will definately make it again and will try and figure out how to cut out some of the butter without sacrificing the flavor. Enjoy!

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
Yummy.... these were awesome. I added a bit of garlic salt to the water while the potatoes boiled. Also split the milk 50% milk/50% half and half..... Light and fluffy.

Baked Haddock

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
Used Herb d'Provence spice instead of thyme and per another reviewers recommendation lightly drizzled orange juice on top - but not too much to soak the crumbs. Served with rice pilaf. The family devoured it!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
We make two at a time because it is devoured so quickly!!! I make one with and one without the nuts. This is a family staple. I let the kids have a slice for breakfast.. hey, its better than eating poptarts!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
Have made this a few times with some slight variation. I mix the cheeses together with an egg and a couple dashes of nutmeg. Also, used part ground beef and part sweet italian sausage. Tastes even better the next day. Made an extra one for the freezer - we all have those days when we'd rather not cook!! Enjoy.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2006
This recipe can't be missed. I've made it a number of times and its always gobbled up! I use 1 cup of beef bouillon instead of water and add potatoes and carrots later on. I also brown the meat to minimize shrinkage before putting it in the slow cooker with salt, pepper, garlic and olive oil.

Ruth's Roquefort Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
Made this within 2hrs of needing to serve it. Put in the freezer to speed up firming process. The guests really liked it. Would use less onion next time and a dash more hot pepper. The minimal leftovers tasted great the next day. Will make again.

Chocolate Mousse Cake IV

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
Call me decadent, I added some mini-choco chips to the cake batter and used an extra half cup of cream for the mousse. Took the advise of chilling bowl and beaters, adding cream of tarter before whipping, leaving the mousse overnight, and chilling the cake before icing. Served with fresh raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. Yummy.

Plum Blueberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2014
I've made this a number of times and it never fails to disappear too quickly. This time I made it w/a gluten-free flour and lemon extract instead of vanilla. Also greased the pan w/coconut oil. You won't be disappointed.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2007
I left this to marinade overnight and the family loved it. We had some leftovers that we added cold to a salad the next day. I didn't have white pepper so I'll give that a try next time. Will definately make this again.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
The family really enjoyed this one. I didn't have sour creme so I used Miracle Whip, added some Italian seasoning and seasoned the chicken with salt/pepper before covering with the artichoke mixture. Served it with egg noodles. I'll make it again for sure.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
Saw the recent TV spot about how this recipe has the most reviews of any other recipe on allrecipes and decided to try it. Have now made it twice and the family loves it. I did use BROWN RICE Lasagna noodles and couldn't tell the difference. Will start being creative by adding things (eggplant, vegies) now that I've got the base down. Would recommend doubling the sauce - can be used on other things too since its so yummy!

Baked Spaghetti Squash with Beef and Veggies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
Will make this again. Instead of beef I used cubed chicken cooked in olive oil, also used a package of blended shredded cheeses, and crushed tomatoes instead of diced (family doesn't like chunks!). Added a dash of red pepper flakes to heighten the flavor. It was awesome.

Pork in Olive Oil Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
Just made recipe and it turned out great. I used chianti (the only thing I had) instead of port. Served it over lightly buttered noodles. Will definately make again and may play a bit w/the ingredients. The kids even liked it.

Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
In order not to make the frosting too sweet I added the confectionary sugar to taste and used much less than the recipe called for. I added a dash of lemon extract and added the whipped topping till I got the consistency I wanted. I used this as a filler for Pumpkin Whoopie Pies (from this site)and had many compliments. Will use this again.
