Israeli Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
I stuffed this into a pita picket. I am thinking that it would be easier to manage if it was rolled like you would a burrito, as the filling would fall out if you just rolled it pita style. This was really good! The only thing, the garlic was a bit much for us, so next time I will add garlic to taste! Great recipe though!

Pot Roast Dips

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
Really good and easy! I made this for a football game. Everyone loved it. I did add 1/2 of a thinly sliced onion, when I put the other ingredients in the slow cooker. Thanks, this is a crowd pleasing keeper.

Old Bay® Shrimp Fest

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
What a great and very easy meal to make! I have made this about ten times so far, and is great, AS-IS. I have found that the frozen corn on the cob (ear nibblers), work very well when fresh corn is out of season. I take them out of the freezer, put them into a colander, and rinse under cool water until they are defrosted. When I made this meal this evening, I added 1 more bottle of beer, 1/2 cup and 1/2 cup more water. I then added 1/2 dozen live muscles, 1/2 live baby (small )clams at the same time that I added the corn. When the shells started opening (which took about 6-7 minutes), I added the shrimp and cooked 4 additional minutes. It was wonderful! Please remember to DISCARD any clams or muscles that do not open, as they will make you sick!

Sliced Tomatoes with Fresh Herb Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I made this for a BBQ this weekend, it was a big hit. Everyone loved it! I read most of the reviews, and disagree with some of them. One said the amount of garlic was too much, I think it was spot on. Also, one review said it was a no-no to refrigerate fresh tomatoes. Ish, I can say that biting into a room temp. tomato is not that appealing to me. I think that cold fresh tomatoes are much better! Next time I am going to sub. the parmesan with sliced fresh mozzarella! Thank you for a great recipe:-)

Fruit with Yogurt Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Just the suggestion of putting fresh fruit on a skewer makes this a 5 star recipe. The sauce is awsome, I wouldn't change a thing! I have played around with different fruit to add to the kabobs (grapes, apples, strawberries, etc.); my favorite to add is sliced bananas. I squeeze a little lemon juice (this works well for apples also) on the bananas to keep them from browning. If you are looking for away to get your family to eat fresh fruit, this is the recipe for you.. I am always asked when we are going to have "fruit on a stick" again! Thanks for a great idea and recipe:-)

Mushroom Olive Salad

I used portabella mushrooms and sub'd fresh basil 1/4 instead of 1/8. I was really good! Next time I am going to try using a mixed variety of mushrooms in this dish! Yum!

Fig and Olive Tapenade

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This was really good! I put the dried herbs in a pestle and mortar, and smushed them. So had no problem with "crunchy" herbs..

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
I made this "sammy" two ways. The first time following the directions to a T. The second time, I replaced the garlic/lemon/mayo with "simple garlic and basil pesto" from this site. I enjoyed the pesto much more. Either way, this is a great sandwich! Thanks for a great recipe!

Italian Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I loved the idea of bringing a non-mayo potato salad to a tailgate party.. It was very mild, and seemed to be missing something. Next time I will try adding additional basil and garlic.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
I tried it first as recipe stated. I did not care for the BBQ sauce. So.. The second time I used store bought BBQ sauce. Instead on baking the ribs before putting into the crock pot, I put the ribs on the grill after they were done in the crock pot. Evryone loved them! the platter was licked clean!

Super Sausage Gravy

Yes.. The best sausage gravy ever, as is! I have this once a month! I am now on a diet.. So, I had to tweak the recipe. I used reduced fat sausage and 2% milk. You can hardly tell the difference.

This mushroom burger is the best that I have ever had! Followed the recipe almost to a T. Except I used white balsamic vinegar instead of regular balsamic (This was more for presentation). Thank you for a great veggie recipe!

Cioppino

Great recipe! The fish and shell fish will over cook, if you cook them 5 to 7 minutes. I cooked mine for about 3.5 mins, and it came out perfect.
