Egg Drop Soup (Better than Restaurant Quality!)

I'm surprised, (with so few ingredients) but this was really good! My picky kids loved it and said it was as good as our local Chinese restaurant. The only thing I changed was using a lot more cornstarch (at least double, maybe a bit more). And it was fast and easy! I have a feeling I'll be making this for the kids quite often! Thanks!

Ten Bean Soup II

Even though I thought this might turn out bland, it was very good! I added 2 chicken buillion cubes, 2 BIG fresh diced Jalepenos (really kicked up the spice nicely). I added quite a bit more garlic, and 2 Tbsp of red wine vinegar. The last 10 minutes I added some 'quick cook' barley to make it a bit more hearty. This was much better than other 'multi bean' soups I've tried!

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

Very good and authentic AND easy. I didn't have any chicken broth, so I substituted powdered bullion, and it worked just fine. I also added a bit more cornstarch and white pepper.

Thai Pumpkin Soup

This was really a nice pumpkin soup, but the Thai flavors were very subtle (I was hoping for a little more Thai taste, since I love Thai food). I added fresh ginger, more garlic, cayenne pepper, more lemongrass and more chilis the second time I made this. And everyone wanted seconds.

Fennel Soup

Wow! So wonderful and unexpected! I absolutely love this soup. I made it as a starter for a fancy dinner party, and everyone loved it. The first question was 'what is in this?' It seems most people have never even tried fennel. I made 2 changes. I cubed the fennel since my bulbs were large, and I used half veg broth and half chicken broth. This is one of my absolute favorite soup recipes now!

Barbequed Thai Style Chicken

I really liked this dish, but my picky husband did not. I thought the flavours were very unusual and wonderful, but if you don't like "thai" flavours, you might not like this one. It was very easy to prepare, and would be great if having company since you can make it a day ahead. I substituted real Thai peppers (about 7 of them) and it still wasn't too spicy.

Lemon-Caper Chicken

I've been trying to re-create the Chicken Piccata dish from one of my fave restaurants, and this is as close as I've come. I used regular flour (not true to SB diet), and added a lot more capers. It also took much longer than 1 minute to reduce the sauce to the proper consistancy. It was delicious and easy enough to make on a weeknight! Will make this over and over!!!!

Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry

Like the submitter of this recipe, I had been trying to recreate a dish from my local Thai restaurant. And this one is it!! I used all red peppers instead of mixing with green. If you want to make this dish even easier...substitute a can of chicken chunks and it still works great.

Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken
