Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Throw out your other recipes for pumpkin bread. This is fabulous! I have been baking over 50 years and this one is a keeper. It has a nice firm yet light texture and excellent flavor. Nice and pumpkiny. It tastes even better the next day. I had a slice with cream cheese for breakfast and I kept thinking, "This is so yummy!" I cut the recipe in half and it yielded 2 good size loaves. I added raisins and used half oil and half applesauce to reduce the fat.

Banana Snack Cake

Absolutely delicious! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. It has an interesting texture and all the flavors compliment each other. Good body and makes a good lunch box cake. I will definitely make this again.

Sweet Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
This loaf is wonderful! It has a moist slightly dense texture like a sweet potato pound cake. Great for fall weather! And it is easy to make. I will be making this again and again.

Lemon Curd Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
Sorry, I was disappointed in this bar. The lemon curd flavor was so strong you couldn't taste the coconut. The shortbread layers seemed dry. I wouldn't try again.

Easy Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
Very tasty and easy to make. I used a leftover fruit salad from last night's dinner. I followed directions and didn't stir the fruit into the batter but it didn't spread about 3 inches to the edges. I'll definitely make it again but I'll probably spread the fruit out a little from the center.

Lemon Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
I used tomato and chicken bouillon cubes and water for the broth and it gave the soup a pleasant pumpkin color and rich flavor. This is a great inexpensive soup you can make with items most people have in their kitchen at all times. I was running out of groceries and was able to prepare this easy recipe with warm baked bread for a wonderful family dinner.

Au Gratin Cabbage

Very disapppointing. I love cabbage and was looking forward to this but it was so bland. Not for cabbage lovers.

My husband loved this! He is a vegetarian and I have a terrible time finding a meal that we both love. This is a great find. Excellent!

Creamy Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
This recipe came to the rescue for me. My husband is a vegetarian and I look for meals we both can enjoy. We loved it. It was hearty and flavorful and easy to make. I added some croutons on top when I served it. I will definitely make this again. It's a keeper... especially helpful when you are looking for a good meal and are raiding the pantry.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
This is an excellent recipe. The blonde part is buttery and brown sugar flavored. It has a great chewy texture. All the flavors combined for a wonderful taste. Just one small piece with coffee was super satisfying and delicious. I'll try it without the chocolate chips and a little more walnuts to see if it makes a great brown sugar nut bar.

Super Easy Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
Very easy and tasty. It was a little soggy on the bottom. I used mustard in the butter dip as suggested by reviewers and it added a nice flavor.

Peach Cobbler V

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
This is an excellent recipe. I used fresh peaches (about 3 cups, mixed with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon lemon juice). The peaches went to the bottom of the pan and formed a yummy sweet layer that was topped by a golden brown buttery crust. I sprinkled it with cinnamon before baking. This is my new cobbler recipe!
