Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
This is FABULOUS! I used less salt and balsamic instead of red wine vinegar. I didn't find the garlic flavor too strong, but I love garlicy stuff. I think I'll be keeping this in my fridge all the time as a healthy snack.

Cranberry Nut Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
This bread is great! I did make a few modifications, though: I used whole wheat flour and brown sugar, I used extra orange juice instead of adding water to the butter/orange zest/juice mixture, and I added 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. I also didn't put the frosting on top. This is a great recipe. I'll be making it a lot in the future!

Whole Wheat Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
I loved these biscuits! I only used whole wheat flour, which made them a little denser, so I increased the baking time slightly. They went great with soup.

Greek Lemon Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
This was delicious! I used more veggies and chicken than it called for, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly! We will definitely make this again and again and again!

Posh Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
I cooked this recipe for my parents, grandmother, brother, and my niece and nephew. They all loved it! It was extremely easy to make and even the kids wanted seconds. I added garlic and a little bit of sour cream, and I used Italian breadcrumbs. This will be a summer favorite.

Family Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
I cooked the onion and celery in chicken broth instead of butter to reduce the fat, and I used cream of broccoli soup, since I didn't have cream of celery. I also left out the mushrooms since I'm allergic. Since some reviewers had said it could be dry, I left the rice out of the casserole and then served it over rice. The celery and water chestnuts gave it just the right amount of crunch, and it was really tasty. I'll definitely make this again.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
I probably have nothing new to add after so many reviews... This bread was really easy to make. I didn't have bread flour, but all-purpose flour worked just fine for me. I used the amount of sugar in the recipe and it's sweet, but I don't think it's too sweet. Excellent recipe!

Butternut Shrimp Soup with Sherry

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
This soup was okay, but I don't think I'd make it again. The blending of the pears and the squash gave it a somewhat gritty "baby food" texture that I didn't like. It tasted fine in and of itself, but I couldn't get over the texture.

Apple Bacon Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2005
I used canned tomato soup and apple juice instead of wine. I also chopped the apple into larger chunks. Delicious!
