Chicken Pot Pie Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
This was quick and easy to make. I diced some potatoes and cooked in the microwave to add in and I used evaporated milk (1 14oz can) instead of milk. Also put some garlic powder and cracked pepper. Definately will use this again.

Creamy Kielbasa and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
YUMM! This was a big hit at my house. Even my 16 mth old wanted 2nd's. The only change I made was omiting the water and adding 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. We like it thicker, like a stew. I cut the sausage into 1/4's (easier for baby to eat) and mashed the potatoes slightly. This will be added to my favorites. Thanks for sharing!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2005
Thank-you so much for sharing this recipe and tip. I've been making whole chicken in the crock pot for years, but it always falls apart and makes a mess. But with your tip about the foil, the chicken held together great for carving. I only needed to cook it for 7 hours after the 1 hour on high. I used a 6 lb roaster with a pop up timer. And I rubbed lemon pepper under the skin on the breast and sprinkled liberally all over. Thanks for sharing.

Chicken Lasagna IV

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2005
This is a good recipie. My husband loved it. The next time I make it, hopefully I will not be in such a hurry. I only baked it for 30 mins. The only change I would have made was to sweat the onions first. But maybe the extra cooking time would have cooked the onions more. This was not kid friendly at my house, but it could have been from the "raw" tasting onions. But definately worth a try again.

Cream of Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2005
All I can say is why would anyone eat canned soup with this easy recipe. Although I did change it a little it was still very easy and tasty and every one loved it. Okay for the changes, I used V8 juice (42oz bottle, smallest I could find), so I increased butter and flour to 3T. I sauted the onion and then added the flour and 1 can (14oz) condensed milk (not sweetened). Then I added the juice and brought to a light boil. Then I added 1/2 package (8oz) of cream cheese and wisked till smooth. The soup was great. My husband, who doesn't like tomato soup, said it was "munchable", which is a good thing. Thanks for sharing this easy recipe. I will be making again.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
I tried this because of all the great reviews. I cooked a boston butt for 12 hours and it fell off the bone. We are having it for dinner tonight. But the couple of tastes that my husband and I had while I was shredding the meat were so yummy. Great smokey flavor. Thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2005
I was a little hesitant to try this because I am use to white chicken chili, but I thought it would be a good change of pace. I was glad that I tried it. The only change I made was to use two cans of chilli beans and no black beans (hubby doesn't like beans). We really liked this soup, it was great. I crushed the tortilla chips in the bottom of the bowl and then topped with cheese and sour cream.

Camp Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2005
I've made cornbread this way for years. But you don't need anywhere near that much sugar. Maybe 2 TB to 1/4 cup at most. I make it in a 8" cast iron pan. Is there any other way to make cornbread besides cast iron. Anyway, thanks for the recipe.

This was great. I dumped all the ingredients in the crock pot and cooked for about 7 hours. Then I took out the juice and made a gravy on the stove top. Great with mashed potatoes.

Jack's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
Beware these cookies spread!!! The taste is really about a 5 but I had the biggest mess until I added about a cup more oatmeal. The cookies spread so much that they turned into more of a crisp. Definately try this recipe but definately add more oatmeal!!

Excellent easy cookie! The only change I made was to use applesauce instead of oil. But they turned out perfect. I sprinkled with Pensey's Vanilla Sugar when I took them out of the oven. YUMMMM!

Maryland Crab Cakes III

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
Okay, so I was looking for something to do with imitation crab meat instead of a salad. So I tried this. The flavor was good, but it didn't hold together at all. So if I try this again I think I will chop up the meat a little more and maybe add an egg. I used the recipe as written except substitited imitation crab for the real stuff. I'd like to try with the real stuff also.
