Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2007
This was delicious!!!! I cut the recipe in half and it came out perfect. Also everytime I make homemade frosting, I always add a 1/2 cup of cool whip, it makes it so much fluffier, and yummy. It was awesome with this recipe, you should give it a try :)

Jenny's Black Forest Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
Omagosh this is goooood!!! I made it once as the recipe stated with cherry pie filling & cool whip topping, and again with raspberry pie filling, topped with a chocolate glaze and mounds of fresh raspberries. MMMMmMmmm...it was so good. The cake itself is so moist and delicous, you must try this recipe.

Eel Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This was good. I like the eel sauce at my local sushi bar, it is thicker than this recipe, so I added 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to thicken it up a bit. It was perfect.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I add a few different herbs and spices to each batch to give it an international twist. For example, I add chopped cilantro, a little chili powder, and cumin to give it a Southwestern flavor; some oregano, basil, and fresh garlic for an Italian taste; a little curry powder mixed into the cooking soup and chopped fresh mint leaves for garnish on top when serving to give it a unique Moroccan flavor; shrimp or fish boullion, a little soy sauce, and some fresh bean sprouts, minus the tomatoes for an exotic Oriental sensation; chanterelle mushrooms and a pinch of thyme and rosemary minus the tomatoes for a wonderful French taste. All very yummy! Also on the skim milk day add some non-fat plain yogurt to soup. Also a good tip is to make a banana and milk smoothy on banana and milk day. All these tips help make my 7 days alot easier.

Grilled Asparagus Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2006
I changed alot in this recipe and it turned out sooooo good. I steamed the asparagus, used spring greens salad mix, and parmesean seasoned almond slices, also I added some tomatoes, salt and pepper. OMG it was delicous. I thought only having lemon juice and olive oil as a dressing would be bland, but not at all. Thank You I will defintely be making this again :)

Ground Chicken Taco Burgers

WOW! These were really good burgers. A little hard to handle, and not very pleasing to look at but the taste was 5 stars, easily. EDIT: Wet your hands before you make the patties this helps with the sticky meat.

Caramel Apple Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
WOW! I really enjoyed this pie. I have made at least 10 apple pie recipes from this site and my husband said it's the best pie I ever made. I skipped the lemon juice soak and just added my bare sliced apples. I also added pecans. Great! Thanks a lot!

Summer Rainbow Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
This would have been so good without the onion. I thought the flavor of the onion was extremely overpowering. I figured it would be, so I cut it down but only using a half of onion, but it should have been out of the recipe completely. I felt like I wasted all of those good fruits and veggies because of that added onion. But this would have easily been a five star recipe if it stated to let the salad marinate for at least an hour, double the mango stated, and of course, no onion.

Seared Tuna with Wasabi-Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
Highly reccomended recipe. I used low sodium soy sauce, margarine, 2 tablespoons of wasabi, and an extra dash of soy sauce, onion instead of shallot. Also I used plain white vinegar. It turned out sooooo delicous. I only needed to sear my tuna for about 1 minute each side. This dish is served best when the tuna is RARE on the inside and seared on the outside.

Roast Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2013
This roast is so delicious. I followed the recipe to a T (as I always do with Chef John's recipes) and it was so simple to make. The sauce was divine and my family likes a lot of sauce so I doubled the sauce and it was PERFECT. Now I am just hoping Chef John can post another recipe where I can get rid of the rest of these porcini's :)

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
I followed the recipe, the only thing I changed was the flavor of the pudding. I really don't get why people thought it was neccasary to prepare the pudding before adding it to the cool whip. I thought just adding the mix flavored the cool whip perfectly. I guess if you like more of a saucier trifle then prepare your pudding, if you like more of a cakier then don't.
