Apple Fritters I

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
This is a good recipe to start with. I doubled the nutmeg, added 2 tablespoons of cinnamon to the batter. And one tablespoon of each cinnamon & sugar to the apples (which I diced by the way), added a tablespoon of vanilla to the batter. I dumped about a 1/2 cup at time to the oil for a good size fritter & instead of sprinkling powdered sugar I added some milk to the powdered sugar to make a glazed, With these modifications this is a five star recipe.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
These are so good!! The best cookies I have ever made by far! The only reason it is not 5 star is because 2 cups of chocolate chips is too much. 1 1/2 cups for a chocolate lover is plenty. I am very proud of these cookies :)

Soft Sugar Cookies V

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
These were really good. I just think they needed alot less nutmeg. They would have been perfect if the nutmeg was cut in half.

Coconut Curry Tofu

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
I don't understand why this recipe has a high rating. The sauce is watery & bland, & if you don't follow the other reveiwers advice the tofu is pure mush. I had to add more curry, chile paste, soy sauce, ginger, and added shredded coconut and garlic powder just to get a taste out of the dish. I honestly don't know how anyone could rate this high unless they add everything I just stated and rate their own version of this dish which is exactly what they did.

Candied Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This is the best way to cook carrots! I ended up adding more brown sugar, I like 'em to taste more like a sweet potato.

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
I followed the recipe, the only thing I changed was the flavor of the pudding. I really don't get why people thought it was neccasary to prepare the pudding before adding it to the cool whip. I thought just adding the mix flavored the cool whip perfectly. I guess if you like more of a saucier trifle then prepare your pudding, if you like more of a cakier then don't.

I am so glad I found this recipe. I have made fries so many times and they ALWAYS come out greasy. Well, not this time. YIPEE! I used the double fry method as suggested by other reviewers.

Salmon Patties I

Thank YOu for this recipe, my mom used to always make these when I was a kid. I remember she added saltines to her patties, so I used hlaf bread crumbs and half saltines, we dipped them in ketchup and told the kids they were Krabby Patties (from spongebob) everyone liked them.

Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
I had a lot of apples but no cinnamon. So this recipe was perfect. I cut the butter in half as suggested by reveiwers and next time I follow the recipe exact cause my topping was a little dry due to lack of butter.

I used liptons onion soup mix in place of the french onion soup and instant rice. This was a great tasting and healthy side dish. Goes great with fish or chicken. Thanks for the recipe.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

I think I only like vinegar on potatoes when it's in potato salad. I really didn't care for the taste of the potatoes, but my husband thought they were really good. Good recipe, just not very tasty IMO.

Chinese Cold Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
I changed this to make it a main course. I added some cut up cooked chicken. Used ramen noodles and a can of chinese stir fry vegetables. I stir fryed the pasta, chicken, and veggies then added the heated sauce and served it hot. It was divine.
