Strawberry Oatmeal Bars

These were pretty good, as is ,but I gave 4 stars because I think they could use a bit more flavor. Next time I think I'll add brown sugar instead of white, the white sugar left the crust a bit flat tasting.. but all in all they were good!

Kentucky Butter Cake

OMG I love this recipe.. its one of those -don't even think about the calories and enjoy- cakes! I've also 1/2 the recipe and made in a bread pan and served like a pound cake. One tip.. let the cake air dry for a while so the syrup gets a slight crust to it.. adds a nice texture like a glazed donut.. so yummy!

Grandma's Polish Perogies

The dough worked out great!! My first time making these so I 1/2 the recipe (just in case it didn't work) and ended up getting about 20. I am going to adjust the filling next time to make the potatoes a bit creamier.. but all in all.. amazing!!

Snowflake Truffles

Great flavor! But, mine ended up quite mushy. I think the filling may need more to bind it together and for me, there was too much cream added to the chocolate so it didn't set up hard enough. I am going to play with this recipe though and try to improve it because the flavor was AWESOME!!

French Fried Potatoes

I tried these last night.. great recipe! I soaked them for about an hour. Drained well, then layed them out on a towel while the oil heated (used Canola oil). I blanch fried them and it worked perfectly! Light, crispy fries. I didn't get an overly sweet taste.. just clean potato taste came through

Simple White Cake

Made this tonight into mini cupcakes.. came out great but did have a bit of a flour taste to them.. next time I think I'll add a bit more sugar and vanilla. Really a great base recipe though!!

Orzo and Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese

LOVE THIS RECIPE! I made this, this morning and then had it for lunch. So yummy. I did make a few changes just for my personal taste.. added black olives as well as green, added 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil & only a dash of dill and 1/2 the parsley. Def, going to be a regular in my house!!

Cheesy Italian Bread

Great recipe! I did use fresh Parm instead of Romano cheese but other than that followed the recipe. Turned out wonderful! The second time I made it I turned it into a pepperoni bread by rolling the dough out.. layering sliced pepperoni and motz cheese.. then rolled it up like a jelly roll and baked. SO SO yummy!

Byrdhouse Marinated Tomatoes and Mushrooms

Love this recipe!! I sauteed my mushrooms in a bit of EVOO first (I don't like raw mushrooms) and also added EV Olive Oil instead of veg oil. Super yummy. I did add a bit more fresh basil too.. just cause I love it!! Great with steak or balsamic chicken!!

Loved this recipe! I did 1/2 mayo and 1/2 miracle whip.. and sub parsley for the rosemary. Came out great! I too made them in a basket pan on the grill. So, so, so yummy!!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Amazing!! This was wonderful!! I did add a bit more sugar to the raspberry sauce but still kept it tart. Def a keeper!! I'm making again next week but with strawberries!!

Butter Cream Frosting II

This was really good frosting! I used butter flavored crisco & butter. Next time I think I might up the butter portion and add a bit less of the crisco. Don't get me wrong it was great I just think it need a slight tweak. I also added 1tsp almond extract and 1tsp vanilla. Got great reviews from everyone!!

Raspberry Truffles

Loved this recipe! I froze the mixture for about 3 hours and had no problems rolling into balls. I then placed them back in the freezer for about an hour then dipped the truffles in melted Dove chocolate. Then chilled!! Oh so yummy!!!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

I let my roast marinate overnight in the fridge. Also when the roast was done cooking, I sliced it and made a gravy with the juices by adding flour and water.. poured that over the meat and served with mashed potatoes and butter carrots. It was wonderful.. the gravy was very strong and tasty.. we put that only on the meat.. I felt it was too strong for the potatoes. All in all this recipe is now a permanent fixture in my recipe box! Plus when is cooks all day your house smells wonderful!!!

Eclairs II

This recipe was wonderful! I substituted cool whip for the cream/con sugar/van. Also I made mine tiny for a more bite size eclair! I will be using this recipe from now on!!
