My favorite things to cook
I love making pasta, and I think it's challenging to find quick, easy things to make for dinner that still taste great and please everyone in my family. I also really love to bake - my favorite time of year is November & December, because I love to bake goodies to give as gifts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For the past couple of years, my daughter and I have baked at Christmas-time, lots of cookies and other goodies. One of my favorite things is that on the morning of Christmas Eve, we package a few baskets of goodies and deliver them to a couple of our neighbors.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph to date is the first time I made my husband's grandmother's "Persimmon Pudding". She gave me the recipe when they started going to Florida for the winters (because it was a Thanksgiving tradition) so that I could make it for the family. Everyone loved it, and thought it tasted the same as hers...definitely a triumph :)
My cooking tragedies
Well...when I was young...maybe 13 or so...and learning how to cook, I decided one day to make brunch for my family. As I was cooking the scrambled eggs, trying to follow the recipe, I misread 'teaspoons' for 'tablespoons' and added WAY too much pepper! The scrambled eggs were nearly black with pepper, and I was SO upset with myself for ruining them!
