About this Cook
I am 24 years old and I am married to a wonderful husband. We are now experiencing two house payments and we our expecting in early Jun 08, so our budget is kinda tight (which is why I love allrecipes). I am trying to get back into the habit of not eating out much, we got off track for a while... so here it goes ;)
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook-- well- that is about everything. If I have a recipe for a guideline I can cook anything! I do love to bake desserts and I love to make a whole meal- it is nice to see everything come together - even if it is just baked fish fillets, green beans and some sort of rice :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't have any real cooking traditions other than the famous chocolate chip cookies and traditional thanksgiving dressing. Oh- my mom does make a wonderful pound cake that everyone loves to eat.
My cooking tragedies
When I was younger, the babysitter and I were making a cake and neither one of us knew what confectioners sugar was- so we used regular sugar. Turned out we had a beautiful yellow cake with this heavy and crunchy chocolate icing! My parents got home and thought it was so funny that they still have a picture of it! Needless to say, we fed it to the cows out back!

Spicy Pecans N Cranberries
I thought this was great! I great way to use up all the pecans we get here in Texas! P.S. I think someone should only leave a posting if they have used the ingredients in this recipe, it's not fair to the poster. Changing the nut type can make a huge difference because nuts do not all taste the same.

Spanish Rice Original
This rice was wonderful!! I didn't change anything I was real impressed how it turned out. And don't forget, once you put the lid on your rice- don't mess with it until the time is up.
