Tofu Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
really good... i did add some raspberry sauce on top - i think it needs the raspberry sauce - it really compliments it. i'd probably make it again but i'd probably use maple syrup in place of the sugar.

Triple Threat Fruit Smoothie

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
good - but i'd probably leave the ice cubes out and just use juice cubes... but for me it doesn't really matter b/c I use smoothie recipes and turn them into healthy delicious popsicles for a simple treat for my almost 2 year old :-)

Really Raspberry

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
"Really Raspberry" is really yummy! I was afraid that the almond extract would be too strong but it was just perfect... and the only thing I might do differently is cook the raspberries with a bit of water and then strain the seeds because it was a bit seedy - i used this smoothie recipe to freeze into popsicles for my little girl - she just loved them - and she couldn't even taste the tofu - perfect!

Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2007
i made a variation of this just like the cook recommended - i used canned pineapples with the syrup, about 1/4 cup frozen spinach, 1/2 cup strawberry yogurt - that's it - i blended it all up and it was pretty good... i've been trying to get my almost 2 year old to eat carrots and other vegetables but she won't - so i've been sneaking them into fruit pops - when i saw the groovy green smoothie i thought i'd give that a try - but i freeze them into popsicles... thanks for the idea to add spinach! it's pretty tasty for mom, too :-)

Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Curry)

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
the curry paste itself was a 5 star for me... but i didn't care for it once i tasted the eggplant... and i love eggplant but i don't think it went well with this curry paste - too much salt perhaps... i think i will try this blend of spices, etc again and mix it with tofu or Quorn. Thanks.

Wheat Germ Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
pretty good. i added about 1/4 tsp salt - i felt they needed that - i also used vanilla soy milk, halved the sugar and used liquid stevia in place of the other half cup of sugar... these were like very soft cookies - i felt like i could have even made them into muffins. they could probably use some raisins or choc. chips or nuts or something else.

really good and easy to make. i may try it next time with feta b/c i couldn't really taste the cheddar - it just wasn't cheesy enough - but it was tasty.

Chicken Papadoris

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
This was very delicious. I just like to add that I made it with Quorn filets (chicken subsitute) -- i really liked this a lot and I intend on making this again and again!

Fasolatha

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
3 stars for me = liked it. it was good - i did add a few bouillon cubes - it's just that i was kind of put off by the olive oil. I'm just not sure if i would make it again. My guests liked it but we all agreed that we've had a lot of soups in our lifetimes and we probably would eat this again but it's just not as good as other soups... i'm trying to be nice - can't you tell ;-)

Chinese Tomato Soup: Dutch-Style

Maybe it's not fair for me to rate it since I submitted it - but it's awesome. Since I submitted it - I've tried a few variations and I really like it topped with French fried onions. Try it - you'll see - it's delicious ;-)

One Bowl Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
very good and easy to make... i used half as much sugar as called for b/c i read somewhere you can do that if you are trying to cut down on sugar... and it still tastes good... i also put some cinnamon in it b/c i think cocoa and cinnamon go great together. i might make this again.

Mashed Potato Miracle

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
:-) double yum! my husband compared it to some mashed potatoes from the cheesecake factory - which he referred to as the best potatoes he had ever had -- now these are his favorite - and mine, too.

Banana-Toffee Muffin Tops

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
pretty yummy - toffee is a nice alternative to nuts. I bought a bag of toffee bits when I was in the U.S. just so I could make this recipe. It isn't my favorite - but I will try adding toffee bits to other recipes in place of the nuts - i think that's a good idea. Thanks

Asian Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
I went to one of those Teppanyaki restaurants and was trying to find a recipe that was similar tasting Salmon to what I had there... this came really really close -- it was very delicious... I used skinless salmon and fried it rather than bake it... it was good - i'd probably make this again, but will still search for something more same-tasting to the restaurant style Salmon that I want.

Eggplant, Zucchini and Sweet Red Pepper Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
this reminds me of ratatouille - it's pretty good - i think it needs to be topped with mozzarella cheese and serve up with some bread b/c otherwise it's just a bit borning - be sure to eat it all up b/c leftovers are not too tasty the next day as i have discovered

Butter Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
I'm going with a 3 stars b/c well i thought it was a 4 star but my husband thought it was a 2 so 3 is even -- we thought it had a strange taste - i cook a lot of curries so i guess this was a bit disappointing - i did add some peas to give it some color - i guess i can't make it again b/c the hubby has to like it and he didn't. sorry but it was a 4 star for me - easy to prepare - maybe just add tomato sauce in place of the soup - maybe the soup just gave it a strange flavor for us.

this was awesome - the only thing i did different was use sliced up day old cake in place of the bread - makes it already sweeter - and i just like that.... thanks for the recipe!
